We went to Ottrott in search of Monsieur Eber's wines which we had drunk the night before at dinner. We found the wines and bought a few to bring home and then sought out lunch as rain drops started dripping from the sky Au Rouge d'Ottrott seemed to be the only place open in town. We sat on the enclosed... More

the food was great except for the blueberry pie which had too much flan in it. we had the snails plus the faux filet steak with wild mushrooms, excellent the service was great. an all smily young man, very kind and nice. the wine from the boss (stomp? stroump?) pinot grogio was excellent Lovely terrasse right in the middle of... Traditional Alsacienne food, the decoration is traditional but cozy. Have been there a couple of times and the staff are always polite with smiles. The food qulaties are fine, but I find the "Jarret Braise" are not same standard of two different times I ordered. My husband likes their Cordon Bleu. The tarte flambee are always good. The beer and pinot... More

This restaurant was recommended by a local resident. We are so glad we went. It was our first exposure to Alsace cuisine. We loved the sauerkraut (choucroute) My husband has never been a fan and loved it. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We sat outside and it was apparent that most of the guests were local making it even... More

We had a party of 20+ for dinner and the meal was outstanding. We were served Baeckoffe family style and it was delicious. Service was good but the restaurant could have used one more more servers as it was very crowded.

As other reviewers have said, this is a great place for a typical Alsatian dinner. There seemed to be quite a few locals in there the night we were there. In fact a group of about 8 sat next to us and the young woman practiced her English with us. I enjoyed the local favorite, choucroute (very good!) and my... More

We ate at this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. It was heaving - mostly with locals it appeared. The restaurant has a lovely terrace, and being summer we sat outside in glorious sunshine. The menu is essentially honest, unfussy Alsatian country cooking, with all of what you expect in this region. I had a choucroute garni and my companion... More

This popular big traditional winstub in the little town of Ottrott was a great find. We had been warned that the portions were very generous so we skipped a starter. I chose pork cheek confit which was absolutely delicious, served on a huge wooden platter and accompanied by horseradish sauce, a baked onion and sauté potatoes. My husband chose a... More

We had dinner there on a Saturday night and even though the place was crowded (mainly locals), the service was friendly and efficient. The food was very nice too - we had faux-filet beurre maître d'hôtel and palette de saumon with potato cakes, followed by a crème brûlée aux framboises - all the dishes very tasty and plentiful. Highly commendable!

This is a very popular restaurant with locals - it serves Alscasish food primarily - the porc dishes are to die particularly the rack of ribs and the whole thigh (Jarret) on a bed of sauerkraut - you must try the local white wines - which are magnificent - Edelswike, klevener, pinot gris - the reds (after which this restaurant...
