Description
A name as evocative as "O Coqueiro" is sure to conjure up vivid images of tantalizing Portuguese Goan cuisine and quaint, softly lit dining spaces replete with history, whisking you away into a world of deep nostalgic splendour, or “saudade”. Live music and performances complement the soothing ambience, invoking the alluring romance of a traditional Portuguese tavern; the perfect place to unwind in and set your soul alight with food, drink and conversation. With humble beginnings way back in 1968, O’Coqueiro is known for being the first to serve Chicken Cafreal in Goa at the skilled hands of Chef Gines Viegas. An inimitable culinary artist, Chef Viegas is widely acclaimed for upping the ante and taking Goan cuisine to a whole new level- bringing in accolades for the restaurant including the Award for Excellence in Cuisine from the International Wine and Food Society UK and Top Choice for Goan Portuguese Food.
