Ultra positive experience, especially with the tasting menu (with a thousand delicious courses and a killer price). Abundant portions for excellent dishes, especially first courses with meat sauce. The wait staff was very kind, and took the time to answer our questions about the names of food. Unfortunately we didn't know about how large the portions were going to be, and when the gigantic plates of food came out we were surprised! Food was ok - cold green bean contorni wasn't our favorite, but the proscuitto served as antipasto was a great color and excellent taste. Fagiole soup sauce was bland, but the beans were perfectly cooked. Tripe antipasto was bland, but the cheese antipasto was delicious and enough to feed 4 people. We do not recommend the house wine (tried both red and white, not great quality). Waitress kindly wrapped up the food we couldn't eat for us to take home.

The food was average and portion generous. The waitress seemed to have a bit of attitude when we were trying to speak limited Italian to her. Hot food was served on very cold plates. We had high hopes for this place but were a bit disappointed. Don’t know if the restaurant is having a different owner from back in 2018/2019.

Poor menu and not for all tastes... we took some dishes for some kids (spaghetti alla guitar with sauce) they didn't know anything about it...... Yes, maybe water. After twenty past nine, don't you dare sit down at the table, you will feel like intruders since the kitchen closes (I have never seen anything like that) not to mention the waiter who had his mouth surrounded by white (not the best when you order from eat) in the end the bill HEALTHY!!!! Ps... after leaving this pseudo restaurant, one of my friends and I went to fix our mouths with a good pizza in a place that was opposite our B&B. Jokes aside, I advise against it wholeheartedly!!!!

Tasty Abruzzese food, good value and with excellent service. If your are seeking traditional, slightly rustic dining you will fund this trattoria fits the bill nicely. The place has a is slightly Edward Hopper atmosphere which we found attractive. English spoken.

Delicious wonderfully prepared local cuisine!

What a fantastic restaurant right near the gate. The name was a bit obscured and we actually walked past it at first. The antipasti was extensive and delicious. All the pasta was homemade including the paperdelle with wild boar and the pasta and bean stew. An unexpected highlight was the fresh mozzarella which is apparently award winning, and we can understand why. We will definitely return the next time we're in Sulmona.

Last minute booking for two, we were lucky to find a place. Fast room service and staffed by willing, capable and friendly guys. Only one chef who manages the kitchen for the few seats. The appetizer Don Ciccio is a small composed lunch from local ham, dairy products, pecorino cheese from Castrovalva, cheese and egg balls, tripe with mint, a small taste of shank, battered cod and a salad of spelled and beans which we seasoned with local pepper oil. The paccheri alla morronese and the kebabs that are cooked in the oven. The choice of desserts is not wide and the selection of bottled wines is good. The cerasuolo by the glass is very pleasant. Clean and essential place.

We ate quite badly, in fact we left a good portion on our plates. Very salty Strozzapreti. Penne all'arrabbiata acceptable but very expensive, for a very simple dish. Terrible arrosticini, as a native of Abruzzo I was disappointed. The battered cod was also very disappointing. Good desserts. All very expensive, prices highly disproportionate to the quality. They would have been suitable for a sought-after place, not for a basic canteen-type offer. Service helpful and quite friendly.

We came to this restaurant because from the reviews it seemed "typical" and "not touristy". In reality, nothing special, some dishes of the Don Ciccio starter (abundant starter) were very good (shank, tripe, ham), others absolutely not (for example, spelled and beans seemed to have been opened from the jar and placed on a plate cold and unseasoned); good kebabs; spaghetti with red garlic from Sulmona = simple spaghetti with tomato, not bad but nothing special. The portions are generous. Friendly staff, fast service and honest prices. I wouldn't go back.

trattoria in the center (always book) with a fantastic local menu and generous portions. The don ciccio appetizer is worth the trip and would be enough for lunch. We couldn't even finish the very interesting first courses and they prepared them for take-away. Very honest account and family atmosphere. The best of Sulmona!
