Family owned, local meats and produce in their delicious dishes. Try the lamb ragu pasta and the sapphron ravioli!! Outstanding service by a young fellow that we heard call "mom!" in the kitchen. At the end of the meal he handed us a pamphlet about Scanno (the town where the place is) and provided recommendations on what to do and... More

We visited Scanno in June, and our first day was quite overcast and rainy. Out of main season in a rainy mountain village and you need a nice meal to cheer you up. We followed quite a few signs from the middle of the town down to this eaterie and other than a group of 4 locals we were the... More

The restaurant opened specially for us as an out of season group visiting on a public holiday early in November. Service was welcoming and efficient, and the food was just what we had been hoping for as a group of Australians intensely interested in good food. Generous antipasti would just about have been enough for me, but they were followed... More

Very friendly team (dad and son), serving simple yet very tasty Italian food. I read on other comments that the menu is very limited, but the quality cannot be very high when you serve hundreds of dishes... The gnocchi were soft ans juicy. I have already tasted handmade gnocchi (mom is from Italy), and theirs were very good, even though... More

Friendly and professional waiter. We had perfect 'al dente' first course, 1 portion for the 2 of us at the waiters' proposal and a trout as main dish : all good tasting. If you like wild berries, try the panna cotta con fruta di bosco ; delicious ! But be aware of the house wine : what we received was... More

Very average. Friendly service does not overcome the fact that food is pretty pedestrian and the whole culinary experience pretty ordinary. There was nothing especially wrong with any part of the meal, but also nothing memorable about any of it. And in the end, it was overpriced. We would not return.

We just had a fabulous meal al Lo Sgabello here in Scanno. The antipasti "appetizers" were to die for, with three types of pecorino cheeses and ricotta as well as homemade sausage and salame. Also the sottoaceti "under vinegar" side dishes were out of this world amazing. One of the best restaurants in the region. Typical Scanno and Abruzzese cuisine,... More

Visited Scanno in June and not many of the restaurants were open. The young waiter spoke a little English, which was a bonus - However, a lot of items on the menu were unavailable and we ended up having steak, which was not up to the English standard. No vegetables, which seems the norm in Italy, but some type of... More

Family run restaurant in quiet town of Scanno. Local specialties with emphasis on homemade and locally grown produce. Pleasant and attentive server made us feel very welcome on a rainy day and added to the experience by offering a bit of history and cultural information along with after lunch homemade dessert wines.

The trattoria is situated just under the historical center. Very quiet and comfortable, not expensive. Food was nice and enough for us for the all day. Cio.
