Arriving in Orvieto through the Medieval section at 9:30 on a Monday evening, we came upon this restaurant with outdoor tables right near a giant arch into the Piazza della Repubblica. They were about to close, but they offered us a cozy corner table, and...More

This gem in Orvieto provided for everything you may look for in an italian restaurant. Fast, friendly, enthusiastic service, delectable, fresh food, and a perfect terrace in the beautiful weather. The town was fairly quiet during our visit, therefore, although the restaurant is located right...More

A perfect type of place if you are looking for an authentic, relaxed atmosphere. The food was great, and the gluten free options were terrific. We loved our meals and the service too!

Sometimes you seem to have a personality mismatch with a server. While we never had any sort of an arguement, I found mine to be condescending and grudging. I felt like a burden to her. That certainly colored my experience and may well color my...More

We were lucky to step in here already the first day, and we had some of the best meals we have had in Italy. The pasta dishes are so good and well prepared, the meat very tendr and tasty, and the use of tartufo made...More

We had lunch here and we're impressed with the quality and the polite service. It is a family business serving honest regional and most importantly non touristico food. In the centre of town, the setting by an ornate arch and crumbling facades was so delightful....More

I just came back home from Il Cocco. The waiter was very friendly and polite and our choices were really great. We had Amatriciana Umbrichelli and Boar stew with mash potato. They were all great and mouth melting. Highly recommended.

Il Cocco restaurant is located in the heart of the historic center of Orvieto, one of the most charming towns in Umbria, Italy. The restaurant is next to Piazza della Repubblica and the wonderful Town Hall Palace, in Via Garibaldi. Our restaurant offers a menu with many traditional dishes and is the ideal place to enjoy a meal in Orvieto. Inside our restaurant are available two quiet and well furnished rooms. Giancarlo, the owner, together with his staff, will be at your disposal. Our best dishes are based on local products, such as wild boar, truffle, porcini mushrooms, rabbit, veal, and much more. Moreover, our restaurant offers a great selection of local and national wines. We can host up to 45 people inside and 15 people outside. In fact, during the warm season, you can enjoy your meal in Orvieto while sitting at our outdoor tables on Via Garibaldi, just 20 meters from the unique Piazza della Repubblica and from the Sant'Andrea Church. We inform our customers that our fried mixed plate will be served again in the autumn season.
