Love, love, love this restaurant! Seriously-one of the best food I had in Italy during my 2 weeks trip . I have been in very fancy restaurant in Florence but food were not so enjoyable like in La Baita. Visiting and staying for few days in Lake Come we have being advised by locals to visit this restaurant. Not easy... More

We stayed in the hills above Mennagio and decided to walk to La Baita, we didn't get far. We soon realised that it was a little further than suggested on the map, another factor was that the road leading to the restaurant is surrounded by woods and poorly or not lit at all, it was also Halloween, so we wimped... Best pork ribs ever. Delicious. Great home cooking, great views, great value. Amazing lake views. There are lots of restaurants on the lake but this is one of my favourites. Well worth a visit

I'm grateful to Tripadvisor reviewers for putting us on to this place. Traditional food of the highest quality, and quite different to the fare in the other rated restaurants in the area. Don't think about walking or driving. The road could be dangerous for the uninitiated, especially in the evening. Take a taxi. If there is a place to review... More

The owners were lovely & friendly the food started well with cold meat and cheese platter the main was presented with grey polenta. And the pasts dishes were tasteless Would not return.

Great views. Yuk food leading to severe indigestion. Friendly staff but will not return. Meat was black and spaghetti tasteless.

In the middle of nowhere...if you fancy a challenge through single track roads in the dark...the place is superb. Great friendly staff and superb food and drink and not too pricey.

We came across this well hidden Gem after a few days of touristy mennagio. The walk to the restaurant is wonderfully beautiful. It is a fairly steep walk (but relatively short) through a densely wooded area. The restaurant staff are beautifully welcoming. The food is local and DELICIOUS. The view provides a jaw dropping background to a wonderful meal. A... More

Definely need GPS to find this gem, but worth the effort. Service is good and the food is excellent. Seems to have a mix of tourists and locals - always a good sign.
