"Tender and tasty", you said. There is no better description for the "Podolica" breed meat that we serve in our restaurant. Thank you so much for being with us and appreciating our work. We hope to see you soon.

We had only one night in Maratea and wanted to try an authentic Basilicata meal. After much research, we decided on La Taverna Di Zu Cicco and we were not disappointed. The restaurant offers a small, intimate outdoor seating area in an alley/square off the...More

Dear Sheryl C, it is for emotions like those described by you that La Taverna di Zu Cicco was born. Thanks from all the staff for telling them in this review. I hope to get you and your husband back to "your" restaurant.

We ate here two nights in a row, that's how good we found this restaurant to be. The first night we just walked by and got a table. My husband had baccala and I had a traditional dish with sausage. Very good, but I got...More

The only place known where the cover charge is for some sliced bread handed to you in a bag! Not a good start and whilst the parmigiana was tasty, the steaks were not. Overall however, what let it down was the service. For what is...More

We took several plates, but we didn't like the meat (without taste and not cooked well), others plates were small portions and not tasty. We liked a plate with sausage and egg. Maybe next time ...

All other diners were locals who knew where to come for an excellent meaty Lucanian meal! Pricey (esp wine) compared to other Maratea restaurants but worth the difference, for the difference.

Lovely meals, rustic style dishes in the back lanes of Maratea. Something different than the usual pizza and pasta. Definitely recommend if you're looking for something with great flavour and a bit left of centre.

Genuine food, well prepared from traditional cuisine typical of the region. Good wines and service. Highly recommend. Try podolica steak even if you don't like meat. These cows roam the hill above Maratea eating mountain herbs, pasture and flowers.

Description
Tipical regional restaurant revisited. Cool atmosphere in the old and narrow alleys of the historical town center. Nice and friendly staff serving regional and meat courses. After dinner with Juan's cocktails. Good music. Speaking italian, english, spanish, french and some portuguese.
