We tried this little place thinking it would be fun, but we suffered some disappointment because of our own language barrier. There were no English menus (many restaurants in Ascoli were able to provide these), and we were unable to make some diet issues known....More

I really love the atmosphere... i am fan of the medieval periode and can definitly recomend the restaurant to have a good wine there, enjoying also the medieval music and decoration. The quality of food is not the best and under the italian standard of...More

Other than the servers dressed up there was not much that was medieval about it. The meat that we ordered was OK however the pasta was completely overcooked and the sauce was disgusting. It was supposed to be a simple spaghetti with red sauce and...More

Food: mediocre. Atmosphere: contrived. Service: indifferent. Value: moderate. Overall: touristy. One aspect of Locanda Del Medioevo, however, that's authentic to their otherwise gimmicky medieval theme: the painfully hard, dungeon-esque stools, with no back, and no cushion. Much better alternative: Ristorante Nona Nini, which we thought...More

On the surface this is a bit of a tourist trap BUT scratch below the surface and you have a good restaurant serving good food at reasonable prices the service was good, they speak little English but there again why should they?,do go there

Literally, you'll eat sitting on a bunch made of travertine, sip a soup in a wooden bowl and eat typical food immersed in a medieval atmosphere. Really beautiful place.More

We have a rule that we never go to overly advertised restaurants, however this did not disappoint. Really lovely place, we found this place because it was literally advertised everywhere. The waiter we had was really friendly and funny (he's the guy whose face is...More

The food was good, the service mixed (we think the staff were new to the job) but they made crowns for the kids. Biggest complaint was the air conditioning seemed to be off, it was too hot

Two of us came here for lunch on a rainy afternoon and were surprised there was only one other table occupied. The interior is a kind of fantasy of one person's idea of what it was like to dine in the middle ages. While our...More

Decided on a whim to have lunch at Locanda del Medioevo whilst walking in Ascoli. Greeted immediately on entrance by staff in medieval dress and guided to outdoor table of our choosing. Very quiet the day we visited possibly because we were early. Food served...More

Description
A blast from the past in the natural location of Palazzo Bonaparte, a stone's throw from the Baptistery. The "Locanda del Medioevo (Inn of the Middle Ages)" comes from the idea of recreating the atmosphere of 1300 also in the menu stuffed with typicality, typical of the period with a wide selection of appetizers, soups, pasta and homemade meat, even with the variation of the pizza .
