Great food & service for an enjoyable anniversary dinner. We will definitely return but probably more of a restaurant for a special occasion. The food lived up to expectations and staff were friendly and gave the right amount of attention. My only criticism if any...More

We went for a birthday meal last night. The restaurant was busy, but the table spacing didn't make it feel crowded. The food was of good quality, but I wouldn't say excellent. For the price there are better restaurants not far away. Didn't feel like...More

We went on a weekday lunchtime and there were enough other diners for it to have some atmosphere. The food was modern and quite acceptable, but not of a higher standard than the other restaurants in the vicinity. I suspect this restaurant used to be...More

Bromley's only Michelin starred restaurant has exactly the quality of food you might expect. With a presentational flair that does not disappoint, what surprised me is how affordable lunch can be. A week day trip with a friend cost the same as a standard gastropub...More

Took my whole family here on Christmas Day, there were nine of us, and it was dreadful: Poor food, atrocious service but the absolute worst thing, which is inexcusable, is that the 'Directors' failed to respond to three e-mails of complaint. How can you run...More

My daughter and I visited for lunch with a Travelzoo voucher. The deal was 3 courses with a glass of champagne, coffee and petits fours for £20 each. This is unbeatable value and we enjoyed the meal. We both ordered the lamb croquette (I'm not...More

Why is the loyalty programme such a farce. Two times I have actually been there on my actual birthday, in addition to at least eight other times for various lunches and dinners this past twelve months alone, and in spite of the restaurant publicly stating their gifted treats for loyal regular members, especially on their birthdays, we have had just one glass of FLAT prosecco, hardly enticing to say the least. On the second visit for my birthday I pointed this out to the manager, Simon I think his name was, and he said he would ensure I got spoilt the next time. Hmmm obviously that didn't happen! I am really not desperate for freebies, but please don't promote an empty promise and don't take take your loyal customers for granted. Why does this happen in a four rosette establishment? I think that all these questions need to be answered please.

I cannot answer it as myself and my wife have said exactly the same thing. Also as 'regulars' I never receive any 'deals' yet my sister who only went once is often being enticed with special promotions via email. Also pretty... More

What options can you offer a vegan diner (Saturday lunchtime)? I don't mind pre-ordering.

Behind the charming Tudor exterior is a bright, modern restaurant with top notch modern European cuisine. Chapter One has gained enthusiastic reviews from many major restaurant critics and happy plaudits from satisfied diners. Not to mention that it won AA restaurant of the year 2004 and comes along with four AA rosettes. The dining room is relaxed, spacious and comfortable, and the cooking superb. Start with something inventive, like homemade roast gnocchi with braised chestnut, pumpkin and lobster. Then do try the braised oxtail with pancetta bacon and parsnip puree - everyone raves about it. The wine list shows much care and attention too. You will leave feeling well-fed and well cared-for.
