Lovely lunch today at the blacksmith arms, got trio of meat all was cooked perfect. our usual spot for food not only excellent food but park is great for the kids also.
staff all really friendly, definitely a go to place.
Beautiful Sunday roast! Meat cooked to perfection, hasty and friendly service, more than enough sides and extra gravy (delicious) and an amazing outdoor play area and seating for us to enjoy. Defiantly our go-to! Thank you Blacksmith Arms!
Great pub, good menu, excellent service from all the staff. Good selection of beers on Draught and non alcoholic drinks as well.
Sunday dinner was excellent meat was cooked perfectly and veg was red hot.
Well worth a visit, would recommend booking a table as...it does get busy.More
We always visit the blacksmiths every Sunday without fail. The food is always top class and today didn’t disappoint us. It’s the best roast every week. I have lamb, which was beautiful and delicious. My husband had beef and he enjoy it. Our daughter love...the lasagne. Staff are very friendly and also happy to help. Thanks Team BlacksmithsMore
Opted to try here instead of the black horse for our Sunday roast after reading some great reviews on there dinners. The roast looked lovely when it came but the quality of food was abysmal.. the Yorkshire was like a thick cake, roasties rock hard,...I had the trio of meats pork lamb and beef which were all ridiculously tough you couldn’t cut through it, the gravy bland and watery and the stuffing was cold. It’s a shame as we were looking forward to this dinner. However, staff were really lovely and attentive so would maybe try here again and choose for something other than a roast dinner.More
My partner and I visited the blacksmiths on Sunday 10th October 21, this was our first ever visit and popped in with no reservation for Sunday lunch on our way home from a weekend in whitby, what a lovely end to a fab weekend, when...we first pulled up my partner and I both agreed that the beer garden would be a lovely area to visit on a warm summers day, they have a children's play area, a huge marquee which is lit up and can imagine looks lovely of an evening, there are two little pods where you can eat and we noticed a fire in there too, looked so cosy, the pub itself was warm and atmospheric, we loved all the wood, quite barn like, the main room would be beautiful dressed for a wedding say, considering we had not booked and it was quite busy we were shown a table straight away and were well looked after by our waitress who couldn't do enough, we both ordered Sunday lunch and my partner was quite disappointed by the small veg portion and asked our waitress if we could have a little extra, our waitress said of course we can at no extra cost and can have as much as we like, and explained that its just to prevent waste and veg is bottomless as long as we eat it! So don't be shy if you feel you would like more as the are so lovely and accommodating, food was fresh and traditional, not a frozen yorkshire in sight! We feel we have found a little gem in this place as I in particular am very fussy when it comes to a decent Sunday roast, so much so I have had a look at the photos people have posted on here of their meals and am desperate to return on an evening and try the blacksmith pie and also the apple and raspberry crumble that is raved about! It was also a pleasure that Catherine the owner took the time to come and introduce her self at the end of our meal and to ask if everything was satisfactory, well it was more than satisfactory, try it, you won't be disappointed.More
