I have been to the cowshed a few times now. I can't fault it. All the food I have had there has been wonderful, both my own and that pinched from friend's plates! Obviously lots of care is put into the menus, including the seasoning,...More

This place is a great place to eat if you like open plan dining. Especially now there's a conservatory - oh wow. The views from the conservatory are spectacular! We sat in the main restaurant. Staff friendly, helpful and attentive. Menu varied and not hugely...More

The cow shed is a strange place. Half chippy, half fine dining. The surroundings are stiff. Waiteresses with gloves to lay cutlery then off then on. Toilets clean. The food. It’s called the cow shed but there is only one beef dish. Ordered rare but...More

Went to the Cowshed for the first time today, after a long dog walk - perfect place to finish. Fabulous food, gorgeous scenery and wonderful staff. Some of the best roast beef and gammon I’ve tasted in years. Great value and we’ll definitely return.

This restaurant has a nice ambience and fantastic views over the countryside towards Hill of Fair, especially if you sit in the conservatory area. The menu offered a reasonable choice of unpretentious food. Burger, fish and chips, pie of the day, etc. The food was...More

Date night with the future Mrs CourierNo1. Very nice evening, attentive service but not intrusive. Small menu, just what the doctor ordered. No-one likes 150 mains to choose from. Small hitch with one of our meals which was remedied very promptly. Extremely reasonable prices and...More

Description
The Cowshed is a family owned and managed business. Our philosophy is straightforward: "choose local seasonal ingredients carefully and cook them as simply as possible. Whenever possible we source local ingredients, thus supporting the Aberdeenshire community and providing a showcase for quality, fresh and seasonal Scottish produce. Since opening in 2010, the Cowshed has changed its style of food and service. We now offer a larger and simpler food menu which includes a mix of customer favourites, traditional Scottish dishes and daily specials, sandwiches, paninis, coffee/tea, cakes and bakes. Something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. As a proud member of the Scotch Beef Club, we serve Scotch Beef PGI. With traceability and unique assurance which begins on the farm of birth, Scotch Beef is high on quality and high on taste.
