Love this place. We are lucky to be local to it and have used it regularly. Very special place. Small with lots of character.

We visited here mid week on a recommendation and we were truly blown away. This is the type of dining experience you would expect from a high end restaurant in London or further a field. It really is hard to believe that food this good exists on our tiny door step. FOOD: We chose the 7 course taster menu without... More

This really was a #lastminute booking as we arrived to our normal Sunday evening eatery to find we had missed last orders for food! Now if you have read any of my reviews you will know that I am really fussy and hard to please lol. So not to let my hubby away with just going home, I quickly rang... More

The restaurant enjoys a unique location. It is situated restaurant beside Bangor marina, in the historic 19thcentury former harbour master’s office. It is owned by Ken Sharp, who also owns the Salty Dog hotel just across the road. We were invited along to try the tasting menu, created by head chef, Tim Brunton and were delighted to join the select... More

Last night I along with friends and colleagues, were served a masterclass of finely prepared local cuisine, matched with wines. My tipple of the night was sparkling water but I was assured the wine pairings were excellent in particular the first wine from Stellenbosch (which I've visited) and the sherry. The venue was The Boat House at The Salty Dog.... More

We visited The Boathouse on Saturday 21st January for my wife's birthday. The staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout the evening. We opted for the taster menu without wine and each dish was excellently prepared and beautifully presented. There were items that we would maybe not try again (pigeon for example) but it was equally nice to have tried... More

I had friends visiting Northern Ireland from Canada and I took them to the boat house in July 2016. They give me a voucher for £100 for the Boat House. When I went to book it, I was told that they could only give me 50% off the voucher value. I would not be buying any vouchers from them if... More

First visit under its new incarnation. Four of us had the tasting menu with wines. The food was delicious and elegantly presented and their choice of wines ,perfect. Will return again soon.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you, to Jasper, Joery, and the team, for some amazing experiences over the last eight years. We have thoroughly enjoyed eating some amazing food, and we, along with many others, are going to miss you. We hope whatever you do next brings you equally great success, as I'm absolutely sure it will. All... More
