We have been before and enjoyed an impromptu lunch during the week, which was lovely and on a not so lovely Sunday we decided to venture out somewhere for Sunday lunch. We took a gamble and called in thinking we probably would be out of luck the car park was busy. We felt very lucky to be accommodated - all... More

What a gem of a place this is! Menu choice is not extensive but what there is should whet most people's appetites. Enjoyed a superb loin of lamb yesterday with all the trimmings. Quality of service matches the quality of the food and all delivered with a smile.

With food shopping to do and a cafe attached this seemed a natural place to visit. The menu was fairly limited for lunch, but sufficient to suit most palates. The cafe was light and airy, and busy, but we were lucky to find a table as a couple left. As a result of the busyness we waited a while for... More

However I called today just before noon and was politely told there were no tables unless we had booked which we hadn't so we had to leave. Restaurant manager was lovely in suggesting other options to eat but I was very disappointed as I had enjoyed my previous visit. I understand people like to book tables however there were numerous... My husband and I are staying in pickering and were driving past cedar barn when we decided to stop for lunch. We are so glad we did. I had jacket potato served with lovely salad and home made coleslaw. My husband had burger chunky chips and salad. Very friendly staff offered salad dressings vinegar and sauces we chose vinegar and... More

Called here on a trip out in February with a group of 10 advanced motorcyclists - on parking in the car park we were abruptly told there was no room for us in the restaurant. We thought fair enough but a couple needed to go to the toilet so nipped in for this and found the place had plenty of... More

Dear Mr Xlrik, Thank you for coming along with your Motor bike group on Saturday lunchtime and my apologies that you felt you were not made welcome. If I may just explain, when you arrived my husband had just left the cafe and knew that we had about 6 tables that were booked and were just about to arrive which... More

Stopped off here for breakfast and was not disappointed. Arrived just after twelve and was greeted in a really friendly manner, by who we think was the owner. Really very nice and helpful, sitting us and our 7wk old baby on a nice big table so we had plenty of room. Had two breakfasts (one for an avid meat eater... More

Enjoyed lovely hot soup on a cold grey day and the service was very good with polite staff. The jacket potato was a good size and the fresh salad served with it made a good attractive plate. It is very busy so may be better to book a table but overall very good and the farm shop is well stocked... More

Calling for a light lunch at 2.35, we were curtly informed that the only food option was cake & drinks.....despite the fact that other diners were obviously enjoying other dishes. Nil ponts for customer service!! The menu clearly states that certain choices are served until 3pm....so what went wrong? We live locally and regularly take lunch out....however, Cedar Barn will...
