Nice traditional pub with decent food and ales. Very friendly staff. Make sure you have booked a table during a weekend.

Lovely food, coal /log fire kept us warm. Good proximity to Gatwick. Wine very pricey. Beautiful old building which our South African guest appreciated

I don't like a restaurant that doesn't have napkins in the table, the tables were dirty, the menus sticky. The servers were pleasant, the food was good. My steak was cooked perfectly and chips were tasty and not under cooked. My wife had the beef short rib, also very good. We ordered off the 2 & 3 course menu so... More

Came here for Sunday lunch with friends. The pub has been really tastefully for Christmas which is lovely! The food was fantastic, chicken was cooked perfectly and the desserts were incredible - we shared the dessert tasting platter which was as good as it looks! Will definitely be going back. Book a table as this place gets busy!

Ordered two slow roast lamb with mint and honey glaze - got soggy Yorkshire which I sent back only to get another just the same as it's replacement - lamb needed another half an hour cooking and needed a steak knife to eat it - not what I expect from a vintage inn - could do much better - oh... We were allocated the side area to the main restaurant which was ideal for our group size. Given the variety of meals preselected and the fussiness of some of the guests the standard was very good. 3 course Xmas menu at £22 is good value plus the al la carry lunch selection worked out in similar price range. Roasts, steaks;... More

Being so close to all the guest houses that service Gatwick travellers it is always busy so you do have to book. The standards are excellent and so much better than any of my local Vintage Inns in Wales. Despite being so busy the staff are always pleasant and the restaurant appears to be very well run.

After a tiring morning shopping I suggested a stop at this lovely old pub. I haven't been there for years, and on previous visits have been put off by the lack of parking. However on this Friday lunchtime there was a lot of spaces. The entrance and ambiance of the place is lovely, low beams, nice lighting and of course... More
