A bit late posting but well worth the drive from Lynmouth on a wet October evening. The food and service were excellent, the only down side was a large table which given it is a small restaurant meant we had to listen to everything they had to say! We had the tasting menu which was good value given the quality... More

We went for a meal for two here on a winters day (we pre-booked) and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with attentive staff who know the food they are serving, the menu was brilliant but it was a hard choice deciding what to choose! i think another visit to try something else will be on the... A wonderful dining experience in the new "foodie quarter " of Ilfracombe. Served by knowledgeable and the most friendly of front of house staff. Utterly beautifully crafted and delivered menu comprised of locally sourced foods. Delicate fish, succulent meats and to-die-for deserts. Book ahead and treat yourself to the most exquisite restaurant in North Devon! I can't wait to return!

I just realised I hadn't reviewed the meal we had here in September, not long after Thomas Carr at the Olive Room got his Michelin Star. We had visited previously and it was fab, but this meal was the best of my life.... so far :-). Seven courses of stunning delight - even the two desserts - I'm not a... More

Back again first time since recieving michelin star, the front of house staff very friendly and knowledgeable, we had a parsnip and olive oil appetiser nice and light to start. The starters were exquiset. The mains excelent. The wine list as a good choice and range, to finnish Apple brandies yummy. Can't wait to go again, thank you thomas.

We opted for the 7 Course Taster Menu and every single course was an absolute delight. This was food elevated to a very special level. It is no surprise that this quaint little restaurant near Ilfracombe's harbour has been so quickly recognised. Never mind waiting until you are close by, make the trip. You won't be disappointed. Booking definitely advisable.... More

4 of us had the tasting menu and it was brilliant. The menu started with beetroot and salmon and even though I hate beetroot I really enjoyed it. We then had 3 further fish courses and each one seemed better than the next. We then had venison and 2 fantastic deserts. The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly and made... More

We went there for a Christmas treat with some friends. Its is a nice small friendly intimate Dinning room. The staff was very friendly & Curtis. The description on the menu doesn't do the food justice really. All the food we had was very well cooked and seasoned very well. There were very well executed. They all looked really nice and... We have visited The Olive Room on a number of occasions in the past year (we moved to Ilfracombe in Oct 2015) and have had some great meals. Unfortunately our meal this time was not up to the same standard, by some way. We waited an extremely long time to be served our starters and when the mains turned up,... More
