If you like fresh fish, this is the place to visit. Our starters were delicious and comprised of a Devon Blue Cheese, Pear, Walnut and Rocket Salad, while one of us had Scallops - perfectly cooked. My main was a dressed crab with bread, lemon mayonnaise and salad; the freshest crab! One of us had the fish stew, again, a... More

This is a lovely restaurant on the quayside over looking the harbour. The fish was large and very fresh. It was very hot and the chips excellent. It was very busy also with take aways,so is a good sign. Can recommend to guests visiting the resort.

We chanced upon this fish restaurant while looking for somewhere to eat on a Saturday night. Phoned to book the night before. We were fortunate to get a table and would have been unlucky without a prior reservation (we were also happy to be flexible on timing). The lady in charge was very friendly and welcoming. The menu was fairly... More

Hi , just had a really fantastic meal at Take Thyme . The chowder starter and the hake main were really good and the atmosphere created in the restaurant was excellent . We will definitely be back and recommend it to friends and family as a place to go when visiting Ilfracombe .

We had king scallops followed by hake, and crab cakes followed by turbot. Excellent. A very relaxed meal in a small restaurant by the harbour - worth booking a table!

From the first contact to make a phone reservation, the response was fun and friendly. We enjoyed fresh fish stew (could use more garlic though, to be really Mediterranean) and lemon sole perfectly cooked. A delicate cocktail and a good white white by the glass made it all perfect. Thank you Ladies!

Visited with family a little while back for a birthday celebration. Booked just a couple of hours in advance and we were greeted by the most delightful lady running front of house. She was so attentive and friendly from the very beginning, made sure we had everything we needed and was perfectly chatty and sweet. Nothing was too much trouble.... More

Visiting Ilfracombe at the end of the year you always run the risk of restaurants being closed - so we were fortunate enough to find 'Take Thyme' open on a Saturday night. Although not everything on the menu was available the choices we made turned out to be absolutely superb. The service, atmosphere and quality of food was first class... More

Had a sardine starter to share, fabulous fish stew and baked John Dory with a pesto crust for mains. The new potatoes were the 'actual bomb!'. Cheese board also fantastic and loved the port. Fantastic night all round. Loved Tara the owner - had loads of chat.
