We called in here on a wet day for a spot of lunch, what a find! The four of us had a mix of crab claws, soup and fishcakes as starters with Mussels, Risotto and salads for our main courses. Every dish was exceptional with the Goose Fat chips going down very well. With Chocolate fondant, Bread & Butter pudding... More

Visited as a group of 10 for a birthday celebration, had cocktails to start which were very nice. Starter of mussels was nice but at £10.50 a little steep. Went for the rib-eye steak for main and was disappointed, asked for medium rare but found it to be barely cooked, the chips were nice but no veg or garnish of... More

Booked here for 18th Feb. Arrived at the appointed hour to find that our reservation had been lost. However we were accommodated after a short wait but no drinks on the house. Overall a good experience but not really value for money. Sea Bass and a blob of mash. Steak and fries no garnish on either.

Another lovely birthday weekend in one of Ilfracombes loveliest eateries. Highly recommend this restaraunt if you are visiting Ilfracombe if only to say that you have eaten in Damien Hirsts restaraunt. Great views in the summer from the room overlooking the sea Attentive staff and a warm atmosphere 💖

A lovely little gem at the heart of Ilfracoombe. Bag a table outside for a coffee or glass of fizz over looking the harbour! Wonderful sunny spot, when the sun is shining anyway. I have always found the staff incredibly friendly when we visited as a couple, then with one child and finally this Feb with two children! Very reasonable... More

North Devon is a culinary oasis despite being on the coast and in rich faming country. (Don't believe any 5 star reviews see read for anywhere else.) In part I assume this is down to the market but it does surprise me that very few places try hard. TheQuay is different. In the great scheme of things this is not... More

This restaurant has it all. Staff were superb, our waitress attentive and funny without being too attentive... The food was amazing, we went with our teenage daughter and her friend, they too loved the food. Yes, it's quite expensive but you really do get what you pay for in this instance. We all agreed, a better evening we couldn't have... More

Visited for my birthday lunch/dinner. We all had Fillet steak which was cooked perfectly and the goose fat chips made it even more enjoyable. Staff informative and very nice. The decor isn't as I thought it would be bearing in mind the owner . A little too plain and white . The view was nice except 3 long planters outside... More

Great coffee, attentive service and the interior is interesting, staff encouraged us to visit the empty restaurants upstairs to see the art. Next time will defiantly eat!

The Quay restaurant in Ilfracombe is home to a unique and substantial collection of Damien Hirst's works. The classical fronted building has been beautifully restored and now relates well to the stunning views out to the Atlantic and the traditional harbour of this ancient port. Exmoor Angus beef served at The Quay has been bred within a few miles of the restaurant, and the Lundy crab and lobster is delivered on a daily basis by the fishermen who catch it just a few miles off shore. With a wine list to delight the heart of the average oenophile, and a stellar selection of West County cheeses and home-made desserts on the menu, The Quay is a genuine treat for discerning food and art lovers alike.
