Booked table for 9 to celebrate my parents golden wedding anniversary. Greeted upon arrival and shown to our table. Excellent choice on the menu to suit everyone's taste. I chose the Beef and Stilton pie and it was excellent and for pudding the traditional trifle....More

Called in for lunch mid-week. Made to feel welcome and lack of reservation not a problem. Not many pubs these days have linen table napkins, but this was an indicator of service, presentation and quality of food. My wife’s fish and chips were a generous...More

The food here is lovely and well worth going especially for a special occasion, it is a few pounds more but you get what you pay for, if you want to go because it is very small and popular you need to book

Popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Open fire in the setting and friendly staff looking forward to spending a cosy evening in the winter with it actually on. Food was fantastic if not a little pricey.

We have been to this restaurant in the past and will do again in the future as the quality of the food is amazing. Only minor niggle was that we were put on a ‘squeezed in’ table that did not help a 6’4” diner feel...More

I wouldn’t think so as it’s a fairly small and busy pub/ restaurant

Ales are fabulous, bar is only small but wherever you sit we found the locals very friendly, it became “our local” while we were on IOW. You’ll definitely enjoy.

Description
We our a cosy little Pub/Restaurant that serves good wholesome traditional pub grub. Local produce is key to our cooking and use it where ever possible. We cater for all kinds of dietary requirements so just ask one of our friendly members of staff who will advise on our options. Although it says in our description 'Vegan options' we do not offer as many choices as the heading would lead you to believe. It is something I have tried to change but in vain. We do our best to cater for all so if you are Vegan please say when booking and we can discuss with you our options or create something for you if given enough time. We do love your furry four legged friends but when booking it is important to mention it to us so we can seat you accordingly. Unfortunately we are very small so our toilets do not have baby change facilities and it would also be tricky to get a wheelchair in them. Apart from the toilets we are great for wheelchair access with tarmac car pack and no steps to negotiate on entering if sat in our top restaurant. Jane, Richard, Becky and the team look forward to serving you soon.
