You'll have to make a reservation if you wish to eat here, really popular, not only with tourists but locals as well. They only use locally sourced ingredients and can cater for food intolerances due to everything being cooked fresh. A little pricey, but on the whole, worthwhile for a great meal.

Tanroagan is a small restaurant that specialises in fish, set in what felt like the foodie quarter of Douglas. With full-length windows to the street and an open kitchen, it's a bright little place, with very friendly staff and reasonable prices for the quality of food. It offers a printed menu and daily specials, and a short list of fish-friendly... More

We ate at Tanroagan on Easter Saturday whilst on a mini-break to the Isle of Man. The restaurant is fairly small and you are advised to book especially at the weekend or you could well be disappointed like quite a few people were whilst we were there who turned up without a booking. As well as a fabulous menu, separate... More

A random pick whilst walking down through the harbour led to a fantastic meal. Excellent service throughout and a waiter that knew what to offer. Good choice of drinks and local ingredients. Food was amazing and i'll definitely revisit

Ate recently with some locals at the Tanroagan on a business trip. Nice ambiance, noisy enough so you can have a conversation without feeling overheard - but not loud. Very friendly, attentive staff, good reasonably priced menu (3 course ala carte, with predinner drink and Wine with dinner came to about £45/head). The menu has some non-fish options for the... Spent a short break on the island and had intended on dining at the Boatyard in Peel. However we discovered that Tanroagan was the flagship restaurant in Douglas. The decor and ambience of the restaurant really appealed. We had checked it out the previous night and it appeared that every table was occupied so we were very lucky in securing... More

IOM is blessed with the finest of seafood and this is one of the finest of seafood restaurants. At first I was frustrated at having to crane my neck to look at the blackboard menu, but then I realised the food is fresh everyday and a paper menu is useless. They would have got 5 stars if the wine list... More

This is a really cute restaurant with excellent service and good food. It's a cute place and though it was maybe a bit pricey I really did enjoy eating here. I loved especially that they bring different types of bread over for you to choose from! Very nice.

Our family of six had an amazing meal at this wonderful little restaurant. All the food was so fresh and delicious, especially the Manx lobster and the Manx Fish Pie. Highly recommend. Great service too.

We were a family group of 6. Restaurant was very accommodating with all our nuances. Most of us ordered off the daily specials board, which once they were gone were crossed off board so really were specials. Everything cooked to perfection. Would recommend without hesitation.
