Very quiet @ 10.50am. Only me in. Bits of paper on the floor that could have easily picked up. Although lots of places to eat in durham i hadnt been here before. Ordered a diet coke and corned beef toastie. Service was pleasant toastie was...tasty the diet coke was from a bottle and tasted kind of strange and very flat at £1.70 was very over priced. Thought it was quite pricey for what i got. Wont visit againMore
My husband and myself stumbled across this place while on a day out in Durham.Wanting a last minute coffee before we commenced our journey home and it was handy for the bus station ......What a mistake we made , on entering this rather bare uninviting...place we decided as the time was getting on to give it a go. Waitress took our order of 2 coffees , there were only two other tables occupied .We waited ,and waited ,and waited .I finally went to see where our coffee was , staff were congregated round the corner having a chin wag .Yes our order had been completely forgotten about .Eventually when it arrived it was the weakest horrible lattes (and I don't like strong coffee) we had ever tasted , The decor ? well I wont even go there.......Definitely shall never return to this place .More
Whispers Coffee Lounge is tucked away in a courtyard off North Road (near the bus station) so takes a bit of finding. If you are at this end of town it is a place I recommend looking for if you are wanting coffee and casual...food. It serves a 'basic' cafe menu including some main meals. The scones were fine and prices fair. It is clean and service is welcoming and efficient. It is also in a quiet location - off the busy North road.More
While Christmas Shopping called in Whispers cafe for lunch. Hubby had large beaf dinner . He ate the lot. I had small pork dinner. Very good just right for a cold day out shopping. Finished off with a pot of tea. I would deffo recommend...this cafe just off North road In a small court yard near the Bus Station. This is the second time we visited this cafe last time we had the special mince and dumplings yummy.More
Visited this cafe for the first time today. It is up one of the side streets just off North Road. The staff were helpful and cheerful. I had a cuppa with a corner beef and onion toasties with salad and coleslaw. It was absolutely lovely...and be visiting againMore
Quiet courtyard cafe tucked away from the bustle of the city. We had been looking for somewhere nice to sit down and have cake and coffee. The cakes were ok and coffee was good but prices were a bit higher than expected. There was plenty...of room and tables to sit outside would be nice.More
