Situated precariously on the narrow village road in Goodleigh, the New Inn was a spectacularly interesting pub with a chalkboard menu featuring every variety of local game and delicacies. The server who I understand is also the chef and possibly owner, was entertaining as she was helpful. We ate well and carnivorously. I had the double pheasant breast draped in... More

We first ate here around christmas time, thinking we had booked 6 of us turned up to a very busy inn only to find out we book the wrong place and they didn't have a booking for us, but they were just fantastic and squeezed us in explaining that they were a little busy and service may be a little... Called in after a 7 hour drive for an evening meal. The owner found us a quiet table and all 7 of us had a different main course, all of which were fantastic. The sizes were big enough that we did not need a dessert. Will be back this week!

The owners simply couldn't do enough to ensure our visit was special! This was our second visit (first visit in 2014) to the New Inn as a family on our holiday with young children, who were made to feel very welcome and treated as princesses!! The food was spectacular to say the least. The Pork Belly was delicious, and the... More

I've been here many times and I've always had an excellent meal. The variety is excellent, the wine list is very reasonable and the service is outstanding. Fantastic value for money.

Another amazing meal at the New Inn. Thirteen of us celebrated Mothers Day and we couldn't have had a better time anywhere else. It was lovely to be surrounded by family enjoying good food. All our food choices were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

What a refreshing change to eat at a traditional pub without the pretense of chefs and waiting staff... Just mine host and presumably his wife in the kitchen....Also piping hot food (Spoon's take note it can be done). Plenty of choice of mains and amazing selection of puddings...8 in our party all of whom will return. If being picky only... More

Had lunch here on Sunday. This pub is so authentic and unpretentious. The owners are really welcoming and friendly although we were strangers. The menu has a lot of choice and you would think you were were in a very good restaurant. The food is absolutely wonderful and plentiful. We would come here every Sunday if we lived here!!!

Home cooked woodland (venison) and steak pies were very good with plenty of well-cooked and tasty meat. Doombar ale was most enjoyable Service was polite and helpful Although food home-cooked, menu was extensive
