If you are visiting Barnstaple the Crean tea cafe is A must to visit. The food is made and cooked at the restaurant to a very good standard. Flavoursome food cooked by the owner of the cafe with a good selection of food items.

We had home made soup, brown rustic bread and a mug of tea each. Was really warm and welcoming. Food excellent and surroundings clean and cosy.. We always try to use a café or tea room where the locals are eating...

We called in to this café this afternoon for the first time. My partner had the cheese platter and I had one of the toasted sandwiches with blue cheese. The cheeses on his platter were generous portion sizes! He succumbed to a chocoholics hot chocolate with cinnamon which did taste divine. Two things in the main stand out for this... More

Brilliant for a light lunch or afternoon tea. Home made specials on the menu. Soups, quiche and great selection of cakes. Space is limited so get there early.

Stumbled across this little cafe down a side street and what a lovely find! We actually visited twice and each time we had the mini cream tea, they offer 1 scone instead of 2 option which was just right. Nicely priced, courteous and friendly staff. Minimalist decor, cosy and comfortable. Would definitely visit again.

Situated close to the Pannier Market just off Butchers' Row, The Cream Tea Cafe is the perfect place for a light lunch or coffee stop. Homemade bread for well-filled sandwiches and scrummy cakes feature highly on the menu. Can't fault the friendly welcome and service.

This delightful cafe is tucked away in a little side road opposite the side entrance of the market, near the church. It has the most delicious home made cake and snacks. It only has 6 tables, the crockery is all fine bone China, the staff are extremely friendly. This little cafe is certainly worth a visit.

Delightful Tea shop. Good selection of home made cakes, and biscuits. Nice Coffee, & Teas. Good friendly Service. very clean and comfortable. But there was a real lack of filling in the sandwiches, I thing they may have missed the bread when filling the sandwich. Such a shame as the place is very nice.
