One of those dream pubs, middle of nowhere, quality location and food. Locally sourced food and local ales greatly appreciated to a hungry and weary travellers happy, can't recommend enough 👍

Beautiful setting with wonderful views from the terrace. Great menu and range of drinks, our meals and deserts were truly delicious. Service was prompt and food standards high but just lacks the friendly banter you receive in most places around this area, that said I can't wait to return when hopefully I will be met with a friendly smile.

Decided to visit here due to the good reviews. It certainly did not disappoint. The place itself is cosy and warm and has a really nice homely feel. Good choice on the menu as well as extra on the specials. The food was amazing, all 3 courses well presented and piping hot. The service was first class - especially from... More

A wonderful Easter Sunday lunch having booked a table in the upstairs Dining room. Fantastic views, great service and excellent food. Sunday roasts were well received (children's versions very well priced) and Ham Hock was incredible. Desserts expensive but generous portions meant they were ideal to share. Highly recommended!

On a grey day over the Easter break we revisited our favourite pub in Cumbria. It didnt disappoint. Back on the menu is my all time favourite meal Cullen Skink. Link this with a Ribs starter and you have the most tastiest comfort food created. Still served by staff that have been there a good while now, this pub mixes... More

I come here regularly since I live locally. But came with my son last week and comments from both of us were 'this place just gets better and better'. Excellent meal. Am looking forward to warmer weather when I can sit outside and enjoy the view as well as the food.

Never go back! I discovered this pub thirty years ago and rated it as the best for pub grub in the country ! Ten years ago it was still pretty good, but it is now part of a chain. Good but nolonger special.

Delicious family lunch in the sunshine with stunning views. The menu was perfect for our 'Foodie' family with venison, pigeon, crab and favourites like bangers and mash devoured. The staff were all friendly, engaging and couldn't have been more helpful. A warm and friendly environment where two and four legged were welcomed and mixed in harmony.

First night we had the Smoked mackarel scotch egg starter as a lighter meal with the boy having steak and ale pie. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night too! On the second night, a pork and black pudding burger and a beautiful apricot and stilton sausage and mash dish. Everything coming from the kitchen looked... More

We have been visiting this pub for the last 30 years and always had good food and service. Last visit we have the staff didn't seam to care and we had to complain about our food. Firstly after a mix up in the kitchen the order for our table of 3 was wrong. We waited 5 mins and the incorrect... More
