Said the first time we came here we would definitely come back and we did. Booked a large table for Friday night for my birthday and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent (thanks Alan) and food was brilliant - will definitely come back again and would have no hesitation recommending this Restaurant to anyone. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Absolutely amazing. Lamb shank was to die for, best I've had. Reasonably priced apart from the pint of peroni which was £5:40! Other than that perfect food, atmosphere & staff. Really enjoyed ourselves.

We went here after a recommendation from friends and were not disappointed. Restaurant overlooks the street and is tastefully decorated. Food was delicious. We both had 3 courses and a bottle of wine. We recommend people to try this restaurant and would definitely go again.

Went for breakfast on Saturday and found it almost impossible to order. The waiter was rude almost like we shouldn't of been ordering the breakfast and when I tried to order a few separate bits instead of a full breakfast it was the end of the world and he just said no. At that point I was just going to... More

On our holiday to carnforth we decided to make the 40 Mile round trip to bowness for another visit to this fantastic restaurant. We weren't disappointed I had the fish finger butty & my partner had the cod & chips both delicious. The deserts all look gorgeous in the cabinet so decided to share the tiramisu which was to die... First night in Windermere, found Village Inn without looking at reviews. Meal was really lovely, managed to find a cosy corner to relax and have a meal, it was quiet enough for our baby to sleep in our pram but has a good atmosphere in the rest of the bar/restaurant if you're looking for something more upbeat.

Had a family meal here tonight. Nothing worth complaining to staff about but very average. Food is fine but very clearly from 3663 catering services, not freshly created. Frozen chips. Average I don't mind but paying £17 for an average main I do! Ate at Riva across the road last night which was much better value. Not a great difference... More

Weekend away with friends in the Lakes. They had been here before so recommended it, they were more disappointed than us as last time apparently, well 3-4 times as it happens, they have been and had a good meal. This time they were disappointed, whilst my pasta was nice, their steak was tough and small, the kebab was tough, with... More
