Visiting my Sister-in-Law and her husband on 8 April 17, my wife and I treated them to dinner at The Linney. Without exception we all agreed that we ate a superb meal. Hot, beautifully cooked and presented. The service was also excellent. I could go on, but I think I have made my point. An excellent evening all round. Thank... More

Went here for the first time for a special occasion and we certainly weren't disappointed. Lovely olde-worlde pub with a great atmosphere, very friendly staff and excellent food although in our opinion we would have liked smaller portions. Only real negative for us is getting there along a very narrow and twisty lane. Would definitely recommend though.

I took mum and dad for an early dinner. The special crab cakes starters were fresh and delicious. The lamb cutlets were perfectly cooked and very tender with a tasty sauce. Vegetables were cheesy leeks (yummy!) cabbage, cauliflower and new potatoes. Arrived piping hot and very tasty. Sadly no room for dessert. A superb, tasty meal with very attentive and... More

I was born locally and have visited the Linny over a period of 40+ years. Gone from a lovely local farmers pub with great real ale choices, albeit no food then, to an overpriced pub restaurant with delusions of grandeur in the food. The food at best is average, drinks prices are absolutely extortionate! And to top it all, they've... More

Booked on spec. whilst visiting friends and was pleasantly surprised how good it turned out to be. Good beer selection and local produce are the mainstay of this out of the way pub. All the staff were friendly and interactive and has now become our friends most favoured place to eat, having lived in area for 16 years but never... More

Reliably superb food; over the years we have been many times, particularly on special occasions and when we have visitors - who are always impressed. I tend always to order the same menu - having found something I like I stick with it.

We are "yearly" locals. We have been visiting The Linny for over 5 years for Birthday celebrations whilst on holiday! We are always greeted as long lost friends and made to feel very welcome. The staff are friendly, helpful and know the menu! Once again we all decided in whitebait, this was fresh, well season and tasted of the sea!... More

This is a busy 'gastro pub' Resturant quality food with a lively, informal atmosphere. I had whole plaice, very well cooked, simply done to maximise flavour of fish. Another member of the party had rid eye steak that was apparently very good, as was the duck. This Resturant gets very busy and booking ahead is essential Recommended for family or... More

A spur of the moment decision, and one that is not regretted. A lovely thatched pub, with friendly staff and very good food and local beers. I would recommend the grilled skate wing. It is a little off the beaten track, but has a good reputation and is obviously very popular with both the locals and visitors, however this did... More
