We ate lunch here before setting off back home after a short break in the New Forest. From the moment we walked in the staff were really friendly and accommodating. The food was just fantastic, and the chef was happy to tweak the ingredients of one of the dishes we had to accommodate a food intolerance. The blueberry and vanilla... More

We had a week in The New Forest and had dinner at The Red Lion three times. We were staying in Pilley which does have its own Pub/Restaurant but much preferred The Red Lion. Each night was excellent. Friendly staff, excellent food and a very interesting old pub.

We booked 2 nights at The Red Lion, Boldre as a quiet get-away. The accommodation was excellent in a flat above the pub. Great shower and bath, spacious bedroom, kitchen and lounge area. Being above the pub was not a problem - an asset really, as the pub has a great menu. Good bar staff who remembered us and were... More

Wow Wow and Wow again, just go and eat here, if your local you are Privileged to have such a high quality restaurant, David and the other young man were so polite and endearing we didn't want to leave. Yes you could say the wine and food is slightly over priced, but to gain this quality you could also say... More

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the Isle of Wight ferry. Only a couple of miles from Lymington so very convenient. Really friendly and helpful staff with good choice of beers and food. We were a bit short of time but food came up pretty quickly and, by choice, we would have spent more time in this... More

Tried the Red Lion for family meal on mother's day. This is a beautiful historic country pub. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had our dog with us and she was allowed in the room with us. The menu was varied and well balanced with some interesting variation on old classics. There were some hits... More

We visited with family for Sunday lunch. The pub looks nice - a typical old country pub so we were looking forward to a traditional pub lunch. The staff were very slow to come to serve us with our drinks and menu. They seemed rather preoccupied and not fully focused on their guests even though the pub wasn't busy. The... More

Hi- are you mixing us up with another red lion? We haven't had roast lamb on a Sunday this year so far. Can you let me know if you have mixed us up as I fail to see how this could have been us. More
