We visited here as a family having read online that this was a dog friendly pub. We has a lovely meal, huge portions and great value for money. The kangaroo steak was a real treat and the calamari was perfectly cooked; the kids' burgers were enough to feed a grown up! Our hound was welcome and allowed to sit with... More

The White Lion has lovely views over the river and has a very local feel. It isn't a gastro pub with plush furnishings but it's very welcoming with great food at a very good price.

What a lovely warm welcome we received, not just from the staff but also from the locals. A quaint country pub, with reasonably priced food that is good.

This pub on the approach road to Ross on Wye from the A40 seems to be popular and was very busy. The menu had a reasonable selection of the usual "pub grub" type meals and there were also some specials on a board above the bar. The portions were generous but it would have been good to have had some... More

The fish and chips was billed as 'famous', and quite right too - the best I've eaten (and I've had a few). My wife had the zebra special, that too was excellent. All in a very friendly old-fashioned pub with no frills, just great service and good local beer. Can't be better!

The scampi was great and the Herefordshire beefburger likewise Nice beer selection and the location next to the River Wye is fabulous-although we were there in November and it was chilly

We only popped in for a drink. The pub is in a great location on the river. Good beer and dog friendly. Pleasant riverside walk.

Pub that does grub really. Not a great atmosphere but the food was ok - looks as if it had a great garden which would be ideal for a mellow summers evening drink. Beer was fine.

Best pint of Wye bitter I've found in the area and the grub is good too. The dog liked it so much we went back a second time and that wasn't just for the salted caramel ice cream! First night we landed was about 8pm on a Saturday and the landlady very kindly hurried off a group so that we... More
