We went to Taylor’s after not being able to get into the Annex restaurant we originally planned to but we had a great meal here and you could not fault it.The food was delicious, the menu was generally quite a large choice but unfortunately they had...run out of pork, steak and some of the burgers. They had quite a good choice of starters too it took me ages to decide whether to go for bread, ham hock or the baked garlic Brie.It was a hard choice but the garlic Brie tasted delicious, toast was tasty and you could instantly tell it was gluten free. But I suppose I have had ham hock before and you can get bread from the Co-op round the corner. Also I loved the Brie too, that was delicious but hot(I don’t really mind hot stuff to be honest). Also the Taylor’s chutney sauce was delicious too and I loved the little side salad that came on the side too.Tasted delicious and very fresh. You also got very generous portions for everything,4 slices of bread a big bowl of Taylor’s chutney and Brie and a medium sized lunchbox container size salad.can’t complain can you. Also main was delicious had the BBQ chicken burger, tasted absolutely delicious,I loved the sauce really spicy and nice, also cheese and bacon was good and you get a proper chicken patty too not one of those kind of chicken Goeugon patty’s that you might get at McDonald’s,Kfc eccetra. Also the potato was nice and really well seasoned. The only thing I would say is that I would have liked my bottom bun a bit warmer, temperature was acceptable but could have been warmer. Also our waitress Abi was really friendly, helpful and put so much effort into making our experience special, when we were taking a photo she offered to take one of us,she recommended the bar that they owned too,she also let us keep the bread that we had as it wasn’t quite finished yet and even told us that parking was free after 6pm!Also service was nice and quick too as we were very hungry it being half 8 at night. On the menu you can get tapas too which is a really nice addition, you can get the cured board which consists of chorizo,Serrano ham,Salami, pickles, breads and chutney. The vegan board which consists of fritters, aranici, olives, pickled veg, tomato, advocado+breads. They also have the fish board of calamari, salmon, goujons and prawns with tartare and chilli jam. What would be a great idea is if you can mix and match options eg Serrano ham, salmon and olives. And what would be even better if it was unlimited.Thdy have quite a good range of gluten free options, but I wonder why they can’t make the sautéed garlic mushrooms gluten free as they could use gluten free toast, mushrooms, onions and chive. Also I like that they have a private room,an upstairs and downstairs for dining and a little lounge for meeting for coffee etc. They also serve breakfast here in the morning which is nice to know.Despite it being an independent bistro restaurant which uses high quality ingredients to make their food the price is quite good and reasonable.Lovely atmosphere, music, decor and cleanliness!Would highly recommend Taylor’s bistro. Also mocktail was delicious and refreshing and they do a takeaway latte as well.More
