We called for one drink but the member of staff, Bethan, was so friendly and welcoming we stayed all evening! On a wet, miserable night she made a lovely fire and enhanced our visit to Hay-on-Wye.

Enjoyed delicious home made mushroom soup and a lamb burger and fat chips on a cold day, sat by the fire. Good choice of local ales and good friendly service

Had a drink here Friday night by the fire and returned Saturday for food. The sirloin and lamb were our choices and both delicious. Cost pub atmosphere, clean and professional. Would definitely recommend to eat here. Seemed dog and child friendly. It was earlish closing but that's just Hay !

Have eaten here twice on our trip to Hay and will be back again tonight. Excellent food in a lovely venue with very friendly staff. The lamb rump is excellent and the Rhubarb pannacotta is delightful

Lovely little pub, really nice barmaid/waitress that looked after us (sorry didn't catch a name) and the food was really delicious 10/10! Would come again - even more so as the barmaid was very lenient with my curious daughter wondering around ! Thanks for being super family friendly and the best tasting chips my daughter has ever eaten 😄

Description
The Three Tuns dates back to the early 16th Century - although some records make even earlier reference to this, the oldest pub in Hay on Wye.Famous for its unique charm and character, Three Tuns became a popular haunt with local characters and well known personalities such as Jools Holland, Marianne Faithful, Neil Kinnock, Huw Edwards and some as infamous as the Great Train Robbers!Unfortunately the Three Tuns suffered a devastating fire in 2005, but a sympathetic restoration has brought life to the old building once again.Enjoy the huge inglenook fires, 16th century beams and the sympathetic new additions such as the garden room and large beer garden
