Just enjoyed a great lunch for four in this village pub. Superb setting right next to the River Wye. Lunch was a little bit slow but when arrived it had obviously been freshly cooked and prepared with care so well worth the wait. Enjoyed some local ales as well. Was not too busy so that made it even more relaxing.... More

Lovely village pub with views over the river, great outdoor area for a drink and bite to eat on a sunny day in Chepstow. Haven't eaten here recently but in the past has been very good and reasonably priced.

How hard can it be? I ordered tea and a toasted tea cake. My husband tea and a scone. We paid and were told they would bring out. We waited and waited.... after about 15 mins my husband went in to fine the pot of tea and the scone just sat on the side. He brought it out and was... More

After having a recent bereavement in the family I needed somewhere quiet and chilled out to take my mind off things. I came with a friend after hearing about the idyllic location and good reviews about the food and the new menu. On arrival we entered through to the coffee area and ordered some hot drinks, we were welcomed and... More

I can only apologise for my lack of consideration during what must have been a sad time, sometimes it can be chaotic here, my manner has come across quite forceful as you put it and for that I apologise, I cannot recall your visit in detail, but I will try not to be too enthusiastic as it does come across... Thank you for your feedback, I am indeed very surprised about your comment re dogs?? we are one of the few pubs in Chepstow that allow dogs in, in fact we have a page for dogs that have visited the boat Inn? If you had enquired you would have been informed of this, so sorry you missed out on that... More

Stopped by this place after visiting Chepstow castle. Cute little quaint place. Had dinner there for pies. Food was tasty and beer was fresh and wonderful. I had hazy Thatcher cider which I miss the flavor in my mouth.

Stopped here for a coffee in the morning lovely staff and friendly. Location right on the river. There was some road works going on when we were there but it looked as if that would be completed shortly.

We had visited this pub before and had delicious meals in the upstairs restaurant. However, when we visited last Friday with friends en route home from the RHS show in Cardiff around 4:00pm, we were told that the kitchen wasn't open until 5:00pm, despite their website stating that lunch is served from 12:00 noon until 9:00pm, Monday to Saturday! and... thank you for your comments, sorry you feel disappointed, our web site would have stated that food is available all day, I think it does say that when the kitchen closes between 3-5 for chef to have a break or re cut our fabulous chips then hot snacks would be available. Are you sure it was here you had wine?... More

Sorry about your experience, I think it was an extremely busy day, and with the best will in the world sometimes we don't get it quite right, I never have one person serving, I have noticed a strange habit we have two sides to our bar, but for some reason we queue up in a line, I have seen people...
