Called in for a quick tea when driving south. The village looks a bit dated. The restaurant area known as the Woodlands looked tidy enough and after ordering the tea we had the option of taking in the restaurant or the public bar. We choice the bar. This was very dated.

Very accommodating staff. We booked for 12 walking couples and were sensibly accommodated in the ding room. Extremely efficient and courteous Australian waiter. Food was imaginative, local and first class. Extensive menu.

Nipped in for a drink whilst passing through. Nice old fashioned bar with wood carvings of what look like leprechauns all round the walls. Different, but, nice. Sat in the lovely beer garden, but, the uneven battle with the midges was soon lost, so, headed back inside, arms flailing!!

I have eaten here several times but my most recent visit 2 weeks ago was very disappointing. I had a main course of a smoked haddock fishcake which was fairly tasty but it came swimming in a thin hollandaise sauce that practically covered the whole single fishcake. I did give feedback to the waitress but didn't get much of a... More

We stopped for a quick lunch while visiting town. I had the haddock and chips, which was good and filling, not oily at all. My wife had the macaroni and cheese with chips and coleslaw which was very good. I wish I'd have gotten that! Good place with friendly staff.

This was my only disappointment in restaurants in Dunkeld. I ordered a steak and ale pie which came with overcook veggies, a huge piece of puff pastry on top and lots of potatoes. The meat was nicely cooked and so I combined all except the pastry. Wait staff was ok but seemed in transition between lunch and dinner.

Dunkeld has so many good dining options. Here you see a different and more innovative menu. The prices are very keen.

Good food,, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and always worth a visit when we go to stay at Tayview Lodges. Planning to go to Tayview again in July and very probably will again have a meal at Woodlands.
