Stopped at Spill the Beans Cafe with my partner on a cold day looking for some soup to warm us up. We were met by an abrupt waitress who explained that they had ran out of the soup of the day, and instead we settled for an alternative. We were shocked to find that tap water was not available and... More

My two young children, partner and myself dropped by as we were heading for a walk on the Heritage trail. What better meal to have than stoavies. I asked what mini and full portions were....to be told the mini was a half portion and the full was....you get the picture? Yes, well the sizes were miniature and then mini. One... More

When we arrived we received a very friendly welcome as we were shown to our table. The waitress was by friendly and could no do enough for us. There was a wide variety of sandwiches which were well presented, the scones with jam and cream were delicious as was the cakes we selected. The tea came in individual pots and... More

We had a wee family stop for a family coffee. The food was good but a bit pricey. I thought that the bacon toastie would have been a bit more special and the size of coffees were small for the price.

This delightful cafe is tucked away in the road that leads to the historic cathedral. The cakes are deliciously superb and the rest of the cafe style menu is interesting and good. Service is personal and friendly. Most enjoyable. And all seems fresh.

Popped in here as we were visiting next door. Friendly staff but very expensive cakes!! Although they were home made and there was a good variety, nearly £4 for an averaged sized cake is too expensive. Overall my visit was ok, but the price puts me off coming back. :)

This is a busy little place up the lane, coffee shop with the usual baking and sandwiches, fairly pricey for a small place but staff were friendly

We've eaten here many times over the years and usually take our small, well behaved dog so the dog-friendly room is really appreciated. Service and warmth of reception is indeed patchy but the cheerier young staff members and lovely baking have secured our loyalty and our many recommendations to friends and family. It was so sad therefore that having managed... More

Found this little cafe down towards the Cathedral. Small, basic and serving the usual for lunch. Although it was very busy it didn't take long for the service. It was pricey for what was delivered on the plates, no salad or anything to bulk out the sandwich/toastie, not worth the money charged. The staff were polite and friendly, one was... More

We called in here for afternoon tea, coffee and cakes. The place was exceedingly busy and we had to wait for a table. The staff were working very hard and when people left tables were cleared promptly. It is a smallish, fairly crowded environment, especially when full. The coffee was good and tea supplied in a teapot with integral strainer... More

Wooden tables with cast iron bases' painted chairs and a warm welcome. We pride ourselves in making great tea and coffee with all our staff being trained in how to make the perfect froth to grace the best triple scored coffee. Tea has been chosen to compliment the local water conditions.A fantastic selection of cakes, from light crisp and chewy meringues to light Victoria Sponges to Macaroons and Apple Pies with pastry to die for.... all made in our small but busy kitchen. We invite walkers in and if your best friend is a dog bring them too ...we have an outdoor area which is smoke free so at last we can sit outside and be able to assured that the table next to you will not be smoking. Closed on Tuesdays. Though we will be open throughout the year.
