Probably one of the best restaurants I have been to :) I have had the privilege in my years of working in the 5* hospitality industry, of working with the best Chefs in the world; as well as eating in the best restaurants of the 35 countries I have visited. The Red House is wonderful. Simon is one of the... More

I have used this inn and others he has run. The food is always excellent and the produce used first class. I have never been disappointed by the service, the welcome and the fare

We've lived around the corner from The Red House in Highclere for a few years and only got around to trying it out recently. The service is always smiley and friendly and as it's so close to home, it's become a favourite haunt on a Saturday evening. I am a vegetarian and so far, the veggie food has been terrific.... More

I have been going to the Red House for many years both during the week and for Sunday Lunch. It does not pretend to be anything but a very welcoming country pub with a excellent menu. It has 2 special nights - Tuesday, steak night and Thurday, fish night. Both are excellent. The Sunday lunch always has a choice of... More

We've lived locally for some 20 years and this place has had its ups and downs (more of the latter unfortunately) so we were very pleasantly surprised when we walked in on a Friday evening to find it buzzing, busy and full of people eating. It is new, modern pub food with a small but perfectly adequate menu. So pleased... More

Regularly stop here when passing through and when I get together with friends. It's homely, relaxed friendly and the food is delicious. You can walk in and feel right at home and the Red House crew become your adopted family after a beer. It's like finishing a day of work and walking into your own lounge, which whilst you were... We had Sunday lunch here with friends. The food was stunning, the staff were really friendly. I would certainly recommend and will return if I'm in the area.

Wife and I dined here last month with friends and the experience was fantastic. That was our first visit to the Red House and everything was so great, we shall definitely be returning. Staff very friendly and gave good allergen information to my coeliac friend. Impressive. When food came, it was delicious..could have eaten the whole meal over again and... More

We had a family birthday meal and from start to finish the warmth of the welcome, hospitality and catering was excellent. A drink in the bar area whilst we deliberated over the menu in from on the log burner was a lovely start to our visit. The children were made to feel welcome by the staff and other patrons. It... to deceive is a truism for this place. its lovely from the outside (That's why we stopped) but inside wooden, badly designed and and badly placed basic furniture. Even real fires couldn't conjure up any atmosphere. Nice friendly staff are not much of a substitute for a hollow place. There we 6 others in the 'food' part and no real... More
