Our favourite place to go in Scarborough. We make a habit of visiting every time we're in the town! The ice cream is to die for and you definitely get what you pay for! Yummy!!!

Myself and my girlfriend were visiting scarborough and wanted an ice cream before traveling home and found that harbour bar were on the top spot. Once we arrived we were very much disappointed and they only serve whippy ice cream which is not to our taste.
Not a lover of ice cream but on boyfriends bucket list was to have a knickerbocker glory. He absolutely devoured it!!! I tried a tiny bit of his vanilla ice cream and it was so gorgeous I bought one too. I will definitely be paying a visit here on my next trip to Scarborough.
Went after a recommendation from friends and glad we listened! Lots of choice and delicious sundaes - will definitely be going back to try more!
No trip to Scarborough is complete without a visit to the Harbour bar for a lovely ice cream sundae. I had a knickerbocker glory! A firm favourite. Located on the South Bay foreshore this ice cream parlour is a kids (big and small) paradise. I love the staff uniform and being able to sit at the bar a la 1950's... More
We had to wait a fair while to get served on a Thursday afternoon here but it was worth the wait. Lovely ice cream sundaes with fresh fruit and delicious creamy ice cream. However we had to wait so long that we weren't even sure we were meant to order at the bar - they had plenty of signs up... More
Love the ice cream especially the strawberry twist. I think it's quite pricey especially if there's a few of you to buy for. Having said that its the only place we go for ice cream as its so nice.
Ordered a coffee and a double tub of ice cream from the lady behind the counter and she gave me two small scoops in a glass for which I was charged over £3.00. Be warned, the bulk, made with milk, instant coffee is now approaching the prices charged for barista coffee in independent coffee shops.
Sorry you were disappointed. You sound just like me on holiday.
Well, we have managed to last over 70 years selling what you call squirty cream and bits of fruit. However, take off the protection we pay on every ice cream we sell, it's called,VAT, and in the case of a Knickerbocker Glory at £5.75 that's 96p leaving £4.79 to pay for everything else. Your getting good value.
Thank you for your review. We have never sold Latte's. We don't advertise Latte's. Lattes are espresso type coffee with hot milk. If you look around you won't find an espresso machine. We have only ever sold Nescafe with hot milk since 1960, that's 55 years and if as you comment,"we always come here for the first treat of the day", you should know that. Coffee with hot milk, if left for a short time, developes a skin. This confirms that it is made with fresh milk and is easily removed and I would imagine that if you make one a home, the same will happen. At £1-75, you would be hard pressed to find a latte at that price.I am not an expert on bread making, just it seems, on ice cream making and milk shakes. But on the basis , as you describe it, of a severely over proved bread bun you have PUBLICALLY condemed all the food we offer. Toasted sandwiches with home made coleslaw and salad, steak and sausage sandwiched all condemed.Doesn't seem to be a fair balanced review does it? But it is interesting to note that you critisize the price of £5-65 for a bacon and egg sandwich. Well I agree with you, that's why we ONLY CHARGE £4-50. so if you can't get the price right, how can anyone trust your review? In that price of £4-50 we have to pay 75p to the mafia in VAT. So at a NET cost to us £3-75, sitting at a counter, watching the cabaret of ice cream dishes made, and then perhaps a visit to our fantastically clean toilet, free, before you leave, what more can you expect? And don't forget, you can always speak to out Manager or our Supervisors, in the white uniforms, if your not happy. Giulian Alonzi v.g.i.c.m.m.
