Lovely lunch! Looked around for somewhere nice to eat on a weekend visit and found Dempsey’s. Hubby had mixed tapas and I had fajita chicken burger. We both enjoyed our food really tasty and plenty of it. Nice staff and not too costly either! Would...return again.More

Not sure if Dempsey’s is under new management but the menu was Asian / Thai with a very good selection of tapas. We chose 5 tapas dishes which were all excellent. The service was also good. The food and drink was excellent value for money....Definitely will be there again soon.More

Came into Dempseys today at midday. We were the only customers in. The one chap on duty dealt with 2 people who came in whilst we were seated, 2 phone calls, and a couple of trips in and out of a store cupboard and completely...ignored us the whole time. He eventually acknowledged our presence after approx 15 mins and came over with menus. By this point we gave up and left without purchasing anything.More

We were a group of 6 requiring a small evening meal, having had a celebration lunch elsewhere. A bit noisy downstairs but upstairs was just right.

Starter of tomato salsa from a jar, as was the guacamole, (Bookers??). Cheese on top of tortilla was a sauce not grated. Inedible. The vegetarian option was bland, tasteless and served with said jarred tomato salsa. Waitress offered to take meal off the bill which...was good as I couldn't eat it. So disappointing as Carlisle needs something different from the usual stuff. Steak was nice. Needless to say won't ever be going back.More

Sorry to say this. But our lunch on Saturday was very poor by the standards they usually set. Got a burger it was so dry _overcooked it was inedible. Our club sandwich was poor also. This had been our go to place most of this...year. Maybe have to give it one more try. Finally the waiter asked us if we had enjoyed our meal. Judging by what we had left on our plates is was pretty obvious we hadn't. Told him issues about burger been inedible he said OK sorry.. The endMore

A nice modern city centre bar / restaurant with quality food and friendly staff. Extensive menu but we opted for a selection from their small bites selection , like having Spanish tapas, no one was disappointed with either the quality or size of portions. Good...value for money.More

What a lovely experience! The staff, Sophie and Caroline could not have been better; they were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We had 4 meals and there was no issue wish any dish - in fact, all our food was particularly good. Two us...had the steak and wine offer, which was good value at 30 pounds for two people. I thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely visit again. Just so the staff know who is writing the review - we visited at 6.30 on Friday 7 June and sat in a group of 4 right next to the bar.More

The mid week evening menu was reasonable value at £16 for a two course meal. Service was good, but I was the only customer, hence there was little atmosphere! Both starter and main course were good and my steak was cooked as requested. The drinks...are over priced for the quality of the wine. Service was good, but I don't know what it is like is the restaurant is busier.More
