We decided to have a late Sunday roast. Chicken in the box and Roasted Sea Bass salad. My partner really enjoyed the salad , I however had to battle through a box ( literally a wooden box) full of pots ( 4 or 5 ) with dry begetables, burnt cipolatas, rock hard roast potatoes , some sort of stuffing and gravy.... Some friends and I headed to The Tobie Norris a few Saturdays ago for some lunch. It was sunny so we decided to sit in their small courtyard, which was a lovely little suntrap. We got there earlyish (12) and grabbed a menu but the pub was busy by the time we went to order. Because you have to order... More

We just wanted a drink and a quick snack. This fitted the bill. Had a small baked Camembert with garlic and rosemary. Came with two slightly underdone slices of white sourdough toast and a fig chutney plus a few leaves (couldn't call it a salad). Tasty and a nice snack but pricey at £8 for what essentially was cheese on... More

Went here after completing a huge bike ride around Rutland. We stumbled upon it by accident and right from the start we were impressed. There's a warm, family feel to the pub that makes you feel right at home. The bar boasts of some fantastic beers, ales and has it's very own gin menu! All the staff we came into... More

Thank you so much for your excellent review on our pub. We were exceptionally busy, hence the wait but I am so pleased it was worth it for you. The 'Chicken in a Box' is one of our favourites and very rarely leaves the menu due to popularity. Your comments on the staff helpfulness and friendliness will be past on... More

Popular with the locals this pub offers a great selection of real ales and ciders. Gin is popular and all other tastes are catered for. It is one of the best places to dine in Stamford, you must expect to pay a little extra but for the extra the food is well above the norm for pub grub. There is... More

This is a lovely old pub in Stamford. The interior is really old world with rooms upstairs in addition to the ones downstairs. If you are in Stamford it is well worth a visit. They do an excellent lunch menu.

This pub has an amazing interior and a great place for a large group to meet for lunch as there are plenty of big tables and a choice of different rooms, each with their own quirky character. We went for Sunday lunch and were very disappointed with the food. There were six of us in our group and three of... More

I like the to tobie Norris and we go there quite a lot. In fact it has a special place in my heart as a first date place. Unfortunately they got in wrong on Mother's Day. We sat down to have some food and we were told it was table service. Choice was limited, but no one came to the... More

Martin, Our sincere apologies for your service on Mothers Day. We trialled a different style of service trying to make it a little more special for Mothers Day, taking bookings and doing table service. We clearly missed your table of which is unacceptable and I apologise once again. I do hope you will give us another chance and welcome you... More

My friend and I meet up on a regular basis for lunch and mostly end up in the Tobie! Yes we've tried other places but the friendly service, extensive menu and welcoming decor and atmosphere make this pub special and whenever we have guests from abroad to impress this is the place we take them.
