We visited on the 50% deal it was very crowded we had to wait we did book at one stage about 20 people outside waiting The service. Very slow the were overwhelmed really brought lompadoms in about 15mins then it was about 30 mins before taking the order after that ran fairly quickly The food starter sheekh kebab was very good but the salad pretty poor and no sauce The main meal excellent couldnt fault it and. Tasty fresh naan pompadoms fresh and tasty too. So two courses and pompadoms for £15 for two people. Obviously normally wouldnt have been so busy worth a visit

Just had our first Lockdown meal from Mother India. We normally eat at the restaurant but they are only catering for takeaways, the food was just as delicious and we really enjoyed it.
I would recommend we all support our favourite restaurants in these hard times and thus is definitely ours.
Please support Mo and his staff. When we can socialize we will be returning

Visited mother India for valentines night and had a fabulous meal met by mo and his friendly staff who always make us feel very welcome. I visited again last night for a family meal and again food was hot and flavoursome, everyone chose different meals food was served quickly and was piping hot. I have also spent Christmas Day here the chose was amazing and excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as never had a bad meal here.

Have been dining here for a few years now, after tonight would never return back here. They were very busy which I can appreciate, however staff were extremely rude, ignoring when I asked a question and just walked off, slamming down our food aggressively and clearing plates! We were all really shocked and felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Restaurant was dirty, food all over the floor dirty glasses given to us. The menus have been replaced to paper menus however there were stains and even biro pen marks on the menu. No Covid precautions in place in terms of hygiene! Waiters standing very close to use and leaning across us ect. Food was cold and could not get any staff attention to ask for assistance, more cutlery or the bill!! Definitely not how to treat customers!! This was my first outing since lockdown and wanted to support our local restaurant however I wish I had stayed at home!

Mother India restaurant, was a staple eatery in Boldmere, until now! We have been regular diners here over the past fifteen years, albeit not since Covid appeared, but booked for a quiet valentines dinner last night.
Arrived at 8.00pm and was greeted by the manager, shown to a table in the front and given menus. Shortly after, the manager approached and advised that he had made a mistake and that this table was for a 'preferred' customer [young guy with moll] and that we [60's generation} would have to move. We were shown to a table at the rear of the room, by the toilet door access!
We were overlooked and our order was not taken for at least an hour, after which and once chosen, we waited for a further 30 minutes to be served. No apologises were given for delays! The restaurant was not even half full.
The food [?] arrived without certain dishes ordered and we had to wait- waiter dumped them on table and we started. I ordered a Bangledeshi dish called "Monsoon", which was fish based. What was oresented was a tomato sauce with two small fillets of rubbery fish, which were inedible, tasteless and looked like debris left by a 'monsoon'. Side dishes were tasteless and very small portioned. My wife had chosen a "Lamb Balti' which was the size of a starter and tasteless. All the food was cold and "NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE".
The restaurant is dull, uninspiring and the staff were unhelpful, especially the manager, whom looked, dare I say, as if he should have had a good grooming.
We were not asked if we would like anything else to eat and I requested the bill. This was actioned and paid and we retrieved our coats and left. The manager and staff disappeared into the kitchen and we were not offered the courtesy of a goodbye.
Don't know if this behaviour is the "general norm" now, in dining out, but I would advise anyone looking to eat here, to be aware that they might experience a disappointing event
I will be "voting with my feet" - goodbye Mother India

We have been regularly coming to Mother India for many years and have never been disappointed with our welcome or our food.
Nothing is too much trouble and if there is something you like that is not on their menu, Mo and his staff will endeavour to try and find something to suit your taste.
The added bonus is that you can take your own drinks.
If you try Mother India, you'll never need to go anywhere else.

I've been using Mother India for takeaways for over 10 years. Never had a bad meal and food is lovely & piping hot. I ring up and drive over and wait no more than 5/10 minutes for them to bring it out from the kitchen, while I sit and read the newspaper :-) Obviously, they are struggling without the restaurant income, so give them a try. They will also deliver but only have one driver.

Visited with family and enjoyed a beautiful spicy curry. Service was superb throughout and very relaxed. I really enjoyed the red cabbage in the pickle tray as it's something I've not come across before at other Indian restaurants.

In 30 years of regularly eating at Mother India I have never been disappointed. They never fail to serve excellent food at good prices. Wonderful choices, great portion sizes, and lovely warm greeting by Manager Mo and staff. Great for gluten free requirements too - a real bonus 👍😀

I had Hariyali main course signature dish, not too hot or spicy with boiled rice. My starter was a half jacket potato with filling then covered in cheese, a real delight. My husband had a Lamb Chop starter, there was plenty of meat, not too spicy. Main course was zNorth Indian Garlic Chilli with Pilau rise, very tasty with plenty of lamb. My main course was a large portion so I brought half of it home for lunch. Excellent value for money. If you are ordering a take away it is far better to phone your order through rather than go online. Friendly staff offering advice on dishes, very good service.

We have been regulars for the last 10 years at Mother India and can honestly say we have never been disappointed with our meal. The staff and manager are always polite helpful friendly and professional. We are very happy to continue to visit the best Indian Restaurant in Boldmere.

There are lots of places to enjoy a curry in Boldmere, but this is definitely our “go to” favourite. We have been coming to Mother India regularly for years. The food is always lovely and we receive a warm welcome from the staff on every visit. Great that you can take your own drink, which makes it a really reasonably priced evening. Great little restaurant. First impressions are important, and I immediately thought how professional the staff are. Always available but never in your face and knowledgeable to answer questions about allergens.
The menu had a lot of choice and the quality of the food was excellent.
Reasonably priced too.
Bring your own alcohol.
Will definitely be returning.

Have been coming to Mother India for many years and honestly cannot recommend enough. Staff and Mo are just the best. Such great food, value for money and all round experience. Highly recommend. Give it a go and you won’t regret it.
