Italian tapas with great choice for vegetarians!

Had a lovely lunch with my husband. We have visited Pesto several times previously and always found the food to be good quality & value for money. Parking is free, just remember to enter your vehicle registration upon entry. Our table was wobbly and we had to mention this to two different staff before it was resolved. This was a minor issue though which didn’t detract from our visit. Service was friendly and attentive. The food came out fairly quickly but tasted fresh. Great to have lots of vegetarian options as not many places offer such a large amount of choice, so that is always appreciated! Would like a broader variety of suitable desserts as some aren’t vegetarian. Will return for the great food!

Pre Christmas get together with friendss

Had a fabulous meal with friends to celebrate a birthday and pre Christmas meal, chose a selection of tapas dishes and everything was delivered quickly by friendly waitresses one of which was called Kiera, everyone commented on how nice and tasty everything was, followed by a small albeit delicious dessert. We bought a cake which was bought out when requested. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon in a nice relaxed atmosphere would definitely recommend and will be back as great value for money

Excellent freshly made food with an authentic Italian feel. Ambience helps to soak up the evening, relaxing and fun. Staff are always super friendly and happy to help you choose from a very extensive list of various Italian favourites. Having lived in Italy, this is as a lose as you get to authentic Italian food. Their sprits are not watery as in other Italian restaurants. The waitress was Kier u?

Could have been better

I've noticed over the years that the food is becoming increasingly 'salty'. Additional salt can always be added to a dish after by a customer if required - this is a personal choice then. I had the salmon and asparagus penne in cream sauce - the excess salt ruined the flavour and enjoyment.

Great food, awful service

We came here for a birthday family meal this evening. The food as always was lovely however the staff and service were incredibly poor. At first we were told we had limited time at the table which we weren’t told at the time of booking. After explaining we normally have a few rounds of food all we kept being told was we had limited time. Considering we didn’t have a lot of time the food came to us incredibly slow and then we were later told that they couldn’t serve us anymore food but if we wanted a dessert we can sit outside…. Which we found appalling. We then asked for a manager who had only been there for 12 months and who could not give us a logical answer and she didn’t even apologise or offer anything to be consolidated off the bill. We made a point we had felt rushed the entire evening again no response to that either. Finally we got some more food and then the bill came instantly- she put down our change and felt the need to tell us about time again to which we all said we are going and got up instantly. The manager on a separate note was absolutely poor in her service, couldn’t give any answers and then gave me dirty looks until we left, I was told she didn’t mean it but I made the point it was on a few different occasions so it was clearly intentional.

Avoid the new main menu item Porchetta @ £5.95.

Avoid the new main menu item Porchetta @ £5.95 unless you are happy to eat a plate of fat and skin, with only a small amount of meat. The manager did refund the cost of the Porchetta after I pointed out that most people would find it inedible. The picture attached illustrates the point with the fat which remained after the small amount of meat was eaten. The rest of the food was good.

Lovely food and staff

We chose to go here due to the good reviews and the price. Well we certainly wasn't disappointed. We arrived and the car park was really busy and I started doubting the place as I don't like busy places as they can feel a bit rushed. We walked in and was immediately greeted by a very friendly staff member Kiara. She showed us to our seats and really made me feel at ease. We chose what we wanted and she was immediately available to take our order. For a busy place it was a really relaxed environment. The food came in really good time and was served well and a good temperature. During eating we was asked how everything was, but we didn't feel disturbed or that they were pushy. Kiara served us throughout and she was a really lovely young lady. You never felt the staff were rushed or too busy to come to you. I'd highly recommend this place. We had the daytime menu which was such good value for 3 small plates of food (6 inch sort of size) and it's a great way of finding what you like by not having one full main meal. We was so impressed we are already planning our next visit and taking family with us.

Great value, great expeince.

I hope that our first visit will prove to be the first of many. In fact we are already planning a return visit with friends. While on arrival we had to wait for our table we found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful and after placing an order at the bar for dinks we were told that the table was now ready. We had in advance viewed the menu online we were still struck by the vast choice of dishes available on the menu and thought we were spoilt for choice. Both my wife and myself decided to other 3 tapas style dishes each and do a bit of a mix and match and share. All of our dishes were served in a speedy manner and hot and very tasty. I know that more than once my wife said she was pleased that we had decided not to order bread to start as it was not needed at all - the dishes were a very decent size indeed. When we got our final bill we also both said it was also very good value. Look forward to returning very soon.

The pleasant plates of Pesto’s

Honestly you can’t fault this place! The staff are incredibly welcoming, full of smiles and all to happy to help. Laura was in charge of our table and what an excellent job she did! We were seated right next to the fire and couldn’t have felt more at home (especially on a night as cold as it was!) The food came. It was piping hot, fresh and simply delicious! And the bill was surprisingly small! The beautiful evening we had, how welcome we were made to feel and how gorgeous the food was Makes Pesto’s amazing value for money.

Terrible service

I’ve been coming to pesto for years and love it here always good service and great food. Tonight was something else. We went for my friends daughters birthday there was a large group our waitress was lovely she managed to work out a way to sort the bill before hand which helped us out. there was 15 of us so obviously there was a lot of dishes being ordered our food came out in dribs and drabs which to be honest wasn’t the end of the world we just wanted to make sure the children on the table had there’s. They missed off at least 5 dishes that we had ordered we weren’t bothered we just asked for these to be taken off the bill wellllll that was it and then multiple managers checked with the waitresses the chefs to basically see if we were lying. Our waitress who was lovely got upset with what had happened to which we felt terrible about and tried to reassure her. We then moved to the bar to which we could see managers and other staff members talking about us they tried to move us off tables at the bar saying they were booked which no one turned up for the remaining time we were there. We were made to feel in the wrong when it was nothing we had done and was completely blown out of proportion by yours members of staff. The restaurant was packed I think staff members were under pressure and overwhelmed and took this out on the situation. Food was great but terrible terrible service by managers.

Been here numerous times with both friends and family and it never disappoints. The small plates are perfect and more than enough when you take 3 from the fixed menus. Noted a previous reviewer complained the food was bland/tasteless but their plates were almost empty, can’t have been that bad can it…… Have to say we all thoroughly enjoyed our food and the service from Anna was wonderful too. Enjoyable afternoon saying goodbye to a friend about to return home after a Christmas stay.

Delicious Meal even with a fussy eater

Great food and lovely staff especially Kiera. We went for lunch with our daughter who is a fussy eater, waitress Kiera was so helpful and understanding of our child's dietary requirements and helped us choose appropriate food from the Menu, so thank you so much! Plus the food was delicious so we will be back!

First time Pesto

Came as a party of 11 for a birthday and had a fantastic time. Place was beautifully decorated. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful when it came to helping with ordering the dishes with Italian names. Keira our host was superb the entire time. Made us feel very relaxed and went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was superb. It was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had for a long time.

What a gem of a place

Visited this restaurant with my Daughter for lunch for the first time and what a wonderful experience, we where greeted by a lovely polite young man who took us to the table and explained the menu how you could mix and match the menu which I found a brilliant idea. We were then greeted my a lovely lady Izzie who took our order and recommended a couple of dishes, the food came out and it was amazing!!!! Complements to the chef, we really enjoyed the food and very good value for the money. The building itself is beautiful and the settings and cosy the tables are spotlessly clean well done to the Manager and all the staff you are all doing a fantastic job. Only problem is now I can’t keep away from the place 😂💕

Family Fave!

Pesto has become a go-to spot for our family nights out. Each visit is met with warm, genuine hospitality. While we often stick to our favorite dishes, we’ve never been disappointed when trying something new. Sam always goes above and beyond to make sure every experience is top-notch. Our daughter especially loves it when she’s the server—her fun, friendly nature always shines through. It’s hard to find anything to fault!
