Four of us came in for a meal tonight (17th June) Service could not have been better as we had intended to have a carvery but were too early. The waitress offered a meat salad with new potatoes instead which was a good idea but...More

My family and I visited the wild man yesterday for dinner. We had a fantastic carvery and the staff especially the manager made our experience a very pleasurable one. I have a new baby and worries about imposing in this restaurant environment but found the...More

I came in at the tail end of a 100 mile cycle from London and was welcomed by an incredibly friendly host. I didn't even need to ask for my water bottle to be revealed - she took it straight out of my hand and...More

I feel I should reply, but because I do not know which day you visited it is hard to chase down what may have happened. I am supposing it was the Monday or Wednesday of the week you made your entry as Tuesday we were...More

It was very busy when we visited here on a Sunday lunchtime - several large groups, and lots of smaller tables very close together made the experience feel rather cramped and we felt we didn't want to linger over our lunch. Cannot fault the quality...More

Sorry you felt cramped, yes Sundays are the day we get big family party bookings. Glad you basically enjoyed your food, for future reference we do mash, but only on request as it dries out horribly on the carvery.

Horrible service, very grumpy waiter. They started to cook my burger last weekend, turned to coal. Had to wait 20 minutes for them to bring the bill.

Typical Village Pub in a typical village just outside Ipswich. Plenty of Parking at the back. Carvery very generous, staff very friendly, unhurried and helpful.
