This restaurant can produce excellent food particularly of course the Dosa itself. Plus as it's the only Southern Indian restaurant in the area, we are naturally drawn to it. However, do not be deceived by the opening hours on the door. They are not ready...to serve at 11.30 and do not even welcome guests at that time. We arrived at 12.15 today, and the boss was clearly too busy on the phone to talk to us or take our drinks order. THe nice man in the kitchen hadn't even got the equipment warmed up to cook anything, and just looked embarrassed when asked how the food was coming on. It's a shame but sloopy management and indifferent service mean we shall not be going back. There are other choices in Ipswich. We arrived today at 12 15 andMore

The restaurant is not elegant or stylish, but the food is. Beautifully spiced and flavoured, where fish means fish and not prawns. Dishes you have not heard of, unless you've eaten south Indian food before. Big portions of food that you will not want to...waste but you cannot eat any more of. Skip the starter, share the rice, just do not order too much of this truly wonderful food.More

A number of stinging reviews here nearly put us off our order. We were therefore pleasantly surprised by the quality of our dosas and other South Indian dishes. We will return.

Takeaway service - dialled it in and was ready for pick up 20 minutes later, which was pretty impressive. What was equally impressive was the range of Southern Indian dishes, both vegetarian and non - different from your normal curry house menu. Dosas are a...staple catgory - we had a chilli and corander one, which was particularly good - with the fresh sear of green chilli. Other dishes also good, cinammmon and mustard flavours, and a very good paratha type bread. Well worth a try - we spent £50 for 4, but reckon we've got enough left for another couple of meals.More

Visited August 2020 with the family, to dine in. Sadly it seems the owner didn’t register in time for the Eat out scheme but they are offering 10% discount instead for over £25 spend. Got seated right under the air con, which was such a...relief coming in from the hot sun. To start, we ordered mango lassi for our drinks. I could hear the blender wizzing and the drinks tasted good and similar if not same to the mango lassi that I make at home with mango pulp, maybe a tad bit sweet. We ordered vada, chicken 65, chilli chicken, Idli, matter Pallak, Masala dosa and ghee dosas. All tasted freshly cooked and delicious. Chicken was moist. Dosas were crispy, with fresh tasting accompaniments. We shared all the dishes and chose to use our hands to eat, as one would if you ate in India. There is a hand washing area for customers at the back. Have eaten here pre lockdown and I feel the standard of cooking has now improved. I enjoyed the food so much today that I ordered 6 more dishes to takeaway, including more of the same chicken dishes, some poori and mutton biryanis, which I’m looking forward to eating tomorrow. In my opinion, it was really affordable and my family are really pleased that I chose to eat here tonight. We were the only dine in customers when we were there but they had lots of orders for delivery, so service was same as before. And the place still looks the same, but now with social distancing precautions in place. We look forward to returning.More

We've eaten southern Indian before in larger cities and were very impressed with the quality, taste and range of the menu offered here. Even under lockdown they were able to offer a very, very tasty takeaway, quickly prepared, well packaged, including all the extra bits...with the dosa. We collected and got 10% discount for ordering (quickly & simply) through the website, but I believe they are linked to Deliveroo ordinarily. Will definitely eat in & take away again.More

If you’ve ever been to India then you’ll recognise that the food here is the most authentic in Ipswich. In fact the tired state of the place and the slow pace of the staff is also authentic. The range of Dosas is very wide. By...their nature there is a dominance of vegetarian/vegan food. Don’t understand the poor reviews it gets, other than if your a brexit-voting gammon who wants to be fauned over in a Bengali restaurant, served expensive beer and crap british curry. If you want really aunthentic Indian food then try it out and just ignore the decor. If you want a standard british curry then you’ll never understand the place!More

I don’t normally bother with reviews .. but please please don’t come here. The experience was so awful as to be quite hilarious! The service staff sort of try, but none know what they are doing. All very Indian Basil Fawlty! Getting cutlery is a...trial and everything is very slow. But what really tops it off is the food. We wished it never came. Lukewarm reheated rubbish. So inedible that we left after we’d had a trepidatious nibble on each dish. Never went to the loo, but based on other reviews I’m glad I didn’t! Not sure how this place is still open?More

I Went to this restaurant on october 12th with my work mates. I go to this restaurant once in a while as I like the food they offer. Food here  is different to the other Indian restaurants so, that  was the main reason I took...my friends so they can have a different experience. But, I must say it was a total let down . Service was awful!!!! We ordered drinks first and it took half an hour to reach us. Same goes to food. The person who took our orders dont think have any idea about service and standards . He even laughed at one of the drinks we ordered. I Will never take any one next time as it was a shameful experience altogether... I'm giving the one star mainly  because of the food . Total disappointment!!More
