Visiting with work colleagues, this is my first experience of dinner at characters and it ticks every box! Being a hospitality professional all my life, managing restaurants and the best hotels in the north west, I know what makes a good guest experience. We had...More

Fab and quirky spot for a delicious afternoon tea. Loved the paper collage portraits by Elaine Rutter which hang all around. Highly recommended for something different than the mass of bland Llandudno tearooms. Well done Characters !

Second time of visiting, the first being 2 years ago and was a much better experience than our recent trip. On our recent visit, we found the meat to be of poor quality and the accompaniment of a bland jacket potato alongside mixed veg padded...More

Excellent!! We have never been before but would highly recommend you go. We ordered Afternoon Tea which I have to say was absolutely lovely. You get to choose your own filling in the sandwiches and choose what cakes you would like off their Menu. If...More

After coming here a couple of years ago having had a nice meal then, we came again, sadly it has gone down hill drastically. The steaks weren't very nice at all, poor quality, and for the price, really isn't what you expect. There is a...More

Came a couple of years ago and booked again as we were visiting Llandudno. Had to pre order the night before. Both me and my husband had the fillet steak, it was amazing. Like the theatre of cooking it yourself. The chef explained the best...More

We love the steak on the stone experience and Characters do it so well. When you book you'll be asked for your choice of steak. We chose rib eye this time - the fillet is good too. Also, take your own wine/champagne/beers etc - all...More

I agree with the other answer. There are steps up to the entrance and it is quite cramped inside. I'm sure the staff would be as helpful as possible. But perhaps it would be wise to give a ring first.

Description
Welcome to Characters Teahouse and Hot Stone Restaurant. A secret to be found. Tucked away in a side street we are not easy to find. But when you do you are in for a big surprise. We are different to say the least..You could say quirky and you would be right. Old second hand china, cups, saucers, plates, glasses, furniture etc all bought from charity shops and completely mismatched giving the place character and ambiance hence the name Characters. Food is wholesome and unpretentious ,soups, sandwiches, hand made cakes & scones of different flavours forming the basis of our now famous Afternoon Tea. Accompanied by proper loose leaf tea & coffee of your choice we are open daytime 11am to 4pm Monday to Saturday. In the evening Friday & Saturday serving from 6.30pm to 8.00pm our also famous "Steak on the Stone" Accompanied by "Bring your Own" wine, beer or champagne. Whenever you decide to visit you will be greeted with a big welcome from the staff & management of this lovely family run restaurant..hopefully see you soon. Characters Team
