This place has great atmosphere, so make sure you sit inside. Our server was very attentive and helpful and the food was great. I had the fish and chips and the batter was just the right amount of crunchy and the fish very fresh on...More

This restaurant is in a converted quayside warehouse and has a wonderfully old Nordic feel about it (but prices are at the usual Norwegian level). The staff were very friendly and the team seemed happy in their work. We had the fish soup (which was...More

I recently visited with two friends, on holiday. We had seen this restaurant reviewed online and spent a while browsing other spots in the area - Sjohuset Skagen is reasonably priced, offers a good range of food and has friendly, accommodating staff. Between us we...More

I wanted to try this place during my one week business trip, but it was closed for renovations under new management. I was lucky to eat there the night before I flew out and it was the best restaurant in Stavanger in my opinion that...More

Very nice atmosphere. Went there for lunch and had the very tasty fish soup. Lots of taste and quite heavy. Norway is expensive so no need to mention about the price. But definitely a place worthwhile visiting.

Strangely there isn't that many places in Stavanger serving Norwegian food and I'm glad we have decided to go with this one. Great atmosphere, good food, attentive service and moderate prices. Beef or whale and trout are my recommended choice for lunch.

Sjohuset Skagen is in a great location right on the wharf. There were a lot of people sitting outside eating dinner and having a drink. We had a reservation so we were sitting inside. Inside felt like we were sitting in an old barn. It...More

Armed with the obligatory tripadvisor top restaurants, we wandered the streets of old Stavanger. We liked the pretty painted coloured cafes to the east of the Vagen, but we wanted somewhere to have lunch. Renaa Matbaren looked promising but we fancied a place to sit...More
