Had the small plates whale and potato salad and my wife had the steamed cod on asparagus with potatos. Both were very tasty and but not a filling dinner for the big eaters. Prices were on the high side but service was good and the...More

Spent an enjoyable evening dining with a 93 year old uncle. The centuries-old ambiance is very cool and the food was delicious. It's a fun experience.

I really enjoyed this restaurant two years ago but was disappointed this time. The food was below the standard I would expect. Salty salami, sardines served out of a tin. With the abundance of fresh seafood in Bergen it's a real shame they cannot come...More

Lack of a reservation saw us seated in the bar area rather than the restaurant proper, but apart from absent tablecloths this didn't seem to make any difference at all. Who needs tablecloths anyway when you are getting to grips with Norway's answer to tapas....More

Chose this as a convenient place for a beer and light lunch on the way back to our cruise ship. Various lagers and beers to choose from and a reasonable menu including a few local dishes. My family chose open sandwiches (beef one was nice)...More

We chose the Tapas menu which was beautifully presented. Several small dishes of herrings, salmon, potato salad, and meatballs were amongst many choices. We ordered six dishes between the two of us which was enough for us. The restaurant is in a old historic building...More

Enjoyed a nice quiet lunch in this charming bar and restaurant located in the Bryggen historic district. The restaurant is in a building built in 1708 and the tables have old-style candles making for a unique dining experience. The wine selections were pretty good and...More

Absolutely delicious tapas (allthough small portions). I had the best salmon I have ever tasted, and I am very, very picky on my salmon. The fish just melted in the mouth. The service was good. Smiling and friendly. The location is great, a bit away...More

Description
Bryggen - the Wharf in Bergen - is known worldwide as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, the centre of historical Bergen and a must for any visitor to Bergen. In the middle of Bryggen you will find Bryggen Tracteursted - renovated and reopened - with respect for its historical surroundings and with an ambition to restore its reputation as one of Bergen's top quality restaurants. Bryggen Tracteursted consists of "Schotstuen" - the Assembly Room, the Firehouse - representing the kitchen and in the back the Stable and the Hayloft. Svensgårdens Schotstue - anno 1708 - is a listed building and the only one left in its original location. The word Schotstue comes from "skytningsstova" the place where you shared your food with others.. At Bryggen Tracteursted you will find a modern kitchen inspired by local Bergen and Hanseatic cooking.
