For a local dining experience, check out Lorry for lunch or dinner. The eclectic interior and friendly staff made for a delightful evening. The menu lists nightly specials, as well as reindeer burgers (just the paddy - no bun), trout, mussels, catfish and a delicious cream-based fish soup. Lorry's is also known for it's wide selection of beer.

Nice friendly restaurant. Traditional & international menu. Smoed sausage & cabbage was excellent, as was the burger! Drinks a little expensive - but so is every where in Oslo!!!

We had a vegetable quiche and a French onion soup. The quiche tasted nothing and the soup had an unidentified ingredient in the soup which was impossible to chew. We were offered a new soup when we told our waiter, but did not want a second soup after this experience. When paying, the price of the soup was withdrawn from... More

the place is a really nice spot to visit, not only due to the historical factor of the place but also for the food quality. However, go early otherwise get quite busy, even on a Tuesday. they have several local specialties including fresh cod fish and deer (in a kind of burger version). I had this last one but did... Not sure my vegetarian daughter would have approved of the stuffed giraffe on the stairs, but this place has a great feel to it. We went on a Sunday, so it was fairly quiet, but still had a nice 'hubbub' about it. Service was great and the food was delicious. My one gripe was that we were offered a local... More

This was recommended to me by some other travelers that said locals come here to dine. I thought it was an unpretentious place that served good, hearty food. There are many beers to choose from if that is what you're looking for. I had the reindeer burgers with lingonberries, baby potatoes and green berms. It was delicious and filling. The... More

I went here with a group of friends on a 12 pubs pub crawl, we had booked a table and food. When we got inside we were greeted in quite an unfriendly manner, did not know about the reservation and did not seem that interested to help. Luckily someone stepped in and said we had a table on the second... More

Our visit to this quirky characterful restaurant and bar was mostly unintentional. We found that a neighbouring restaurant we had intended to visit had closed down. Lorry I was told is Oslo’s oldest pub frequented by politicians, socialites, drunks and Norwegian tv ‘stars’. It was bustling when we stepped in out of the cold and (a different) one of our... More

Went there after it was highly recommend by a colleague, ordered carpacio and the house burger. The carpacio was more of a pate then a really thin as slice and I meet quality wasn't so good. The hamburger was simply terrible, the bun was not fresh like it was frozen and defrosted, the cheese was almost solid and the burger... More

Lorry is first and foremost a generous and public lounge. This is a place where artists, cultural souls and ordinary people meet up for a good meal or just a drink. Lorry has a broad menu to choose from, but it is mainly known for having 249 different types of beer. The environment is kind but full of atmosphere The seating at the 1 floor is perfect for parties, business dinners, anniversaries and other arrangements. This floor can be rented privately with seating for up to 100 guests. The room has a bar, a sophisticated fireplace and an entrance to the terrace for smokers. Please also visit our charming and provincial 'Smokers Terrace' at the 1 floor. This outdoor room that has loads of heaters, makes this place feel like summer all year around! The terrace is open every day between 5pm and 11.45pm. (Saturdays: 2pm)
