Nice restaurant, located in a cellar with a very suggestive atmosphere, where you dine at candlelight. For our dinner we opted for the tasting menu made of 10 courses: it was really excellent, each plate of amazing quality, presented in an appealing way. We were afraid we could not finish dinner because of the high number of dishes but the... More

10 course dinner with upgraded wine-package. Yes, it will cost you about 1500,- nok a person, but you'll remember the food, atmosphere, service and historic location a long long time... Go for it! They introduce the wine and the food, and you'll be taken through a journey of taste and exitement. This will take quite a while, but you'll enjoy... More

Located in the basement of the fabulous restaurants Statholdergaarden, you'll find a little gem that is decorated with inspiration from Denmark. The restaurant is associated with the same kitchen as Statholdergaarden. The difference is that the menu is somewhat different and the surroundings is not as gorgeous as at Statholdergaarden. This restaurant is worth visiting

I took my better half to what I thought would be a great evening with good food at Statholdergaarden (the cellar) – well, it turned out not to be a great experience. I know the Michelin star are on the first floor but I would believe the same quality would be found in the cellar too. First, the employees tried... More

It is obviously a very nice place to visit - good food and absolutely great service. But the prices also reflect this and given this, then I will only rate this as average for the price paid. This was not an extravagant experience and I think value could be better elsewhere.

Had the best ever lutefisk in December 2015 and brought my wife and another couple here in December 2016 so they also could experience the great Lutefisk. What we got was among the poorest experience ever. The fish was like a lump of jelly and was far away from how it should be. 3 of the plates was sent back... More

We had a great evening with fine foods, delicious drinks and attentive service at the mat & vinkjeller. And I have to say as usual. So far we have never been disappointed yet.

We dined in the entry room of the wine cellar. I was concerned that it might be chilly in January, but the room was cozy and warm. Although the menu features seafood dishes, I and another guest ordered the lamb and beef mains (as I do eat fish) and both dishes were delicious. The lamb was so tender that it... More

When you are booking table 3 weeks earlier, you don't expect table next to the entrance. Service: our waiter Pavel was excellent but not the lady with Swedish accent (she really needs to think why she has this job or at least take some lessons from Pavel). Food: Main course was very bad, the meat was not OK at all... More

The wine cellar is quaint. The service is good. The food is very good. The wine list is extraordinary. They promote the tasting menu with paired wines. We ordered à la carte. The cod main was excellent. The Norwegian pancake desert was so-so. The prices were reasonable for Oslo fine dining (no bargains in this high cost country). I look... More
