I dined in this welcoming restaurant, located on the waterfront at the base of the Akershus Castle and Fortress, on August 2017. Wide selection of fish, molluscs and crustaceans, cooked and raw. Abudant portions. Kind and attentive staff. For a 3 course meal (appetizer, main...More

Spacious, simple modern design, open and calm atmosphere. Invited by business friends on a relatively sunny evening, I enjoyed the very friendly and joyful service, while looking at the beautiful and peaceful sunset on the fjord. Beautiful relaxing view on the sunny side of the...More

The Restaurant was ideally located right by the waterfront. The staff was on spot and always very attentive and great in their recommendations. We had a seafood platter for two, filled with a whole lobster, easily two pound of shrimp, mussels, scallops and king crab!...More

Solsiden is for good reasons considered the place to eat serious seafood. The variety the freshness and the service are excellent qualities. A reasonable wine list with different prices according to your willingness and capacity also matches the seafood plates. We were five, took some...More

We had a very nice dinner at this restaurant. Location, as they say, is everything, and this place had it. It is located directly on the waterfront in Oslo. As the sun tried to set (Land of the Midnight Sun) we had a nice meal...More

Our waiter in another restaurant recommended this spot and we were so glad we chose it. We had reservations for an upscale seafood spot but this more casual spot on the harbor was much more relaxed and fun. The food and service were good ......More

Description
Solsiden Restaurant is a seafood restaurant where we use only the best raw materials the coast has to offer. Besides a variety of different fish we always have "Plateau de Fruits de Mer" on the menu. This is our specialty consisting of lobster, clams, crabs, mussels, shrimp, crayfish (when they are available fresh) and king crab. The dishes can be accompanied by one of the over 250 wines from our wine menu.

Solsiden Restaurant is located on Akershusstranda right below Akershus Fortress. Enjoy the magnificent sunset over the Oslo Fjord through the windows and open sliding doors. Here Oslo harbor is like a marine painting that changes from minute to minute.

Welcome and Bon Appetit!
