Kabab tasted so bad, the rice was of the poorest quality. The marinated olive side-dish were supposed to be stoneless but we found a big stone inside it. The waiters and the manager were not responsible for anything. It was very expensive considering such terrible food.

I went to this restaurant based on highest rate of it among other Persian restaurants in Vienna and I can't say I'm disappointed but I had higher expectations. When reading reviews on TA I noticed that Iranian people tend to give lower rates and now i know why was that. I myself grew up in Iran and I had Much... More

Best hummus ever, amazing lamb and chicken. Order less than advertised, with 3 people we ordered mixed starter for 2 and two main dishes to share and had enough with little left overs. The wine suggestion (we had the red Austrian Phantom) was perfect, too.

Super traditionally decorated and relatively large Iranian restaurant with three dining areas in total. Friendly and helpful service staff and tasty generous food portions. Menu to suit all tastes including rice, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Trad. ion als sweets available along with black tea. Absolutely essential to reserve a table particularly at the weekend. Takeaway meals also available. All... More

The eggplant dip could be tastier, but kebab and rice were just perfect! The decoration is traditional Persian style and staff are very friendly and service was just fast and responsive. They brought sabzi and salad without charging us! Will be back again to try chicken!

We been here after long way walking from downtown, we were looking to eat Persian food. The food not the best , it's so cold, not tasty at all , so expensive, the good thing was only the service for honestly. I will never ever back there.

Firstly as I have a injury and have a external metal frame on my lower right leg, using my crutches I went straight to the toilet. As the floor was wet my crutch slipped and I hurt myself landing on my injured leg and frame. Eventually I was helped by my brother in law. Some of the staff did come... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
