Back when Zagat was, well, Zagat this was the highest rated restaurant in Wein. Steirereck is one of 2 two-star Michelins in Vienna, There is no three but we feel that this restaurant deserves it Tasting menu is recommended, of course. Expect impeccable service and a memorable meal Steirereck is worth detouring to Vienna for

It is a must restaurant in the World. Fantastic tasting menu, great wine list, perfect breads and cheeses. More importantly, it is not yet overpriced.

What can be said beyond what others have said? Tenth best restaurant in the world at my time of visiting, and it lived up to expectations - and beyond. Let's not beat around the bush: it's expensive. Very expensive, depending on what you're used to. But worth it. The staff are characterful whilst still being diligent and courteous, the atmosphere... More

I understand that Steirereck is ranked #9 in the world and that really makes me want to visit #'s 1-8 on the list to see how they possibly could be any better. I opted to go for lunch early one day and get the 9-course dinner with wine pairing. Wow!!!! The attention to every detail by the servers is incredible!... More

This restaurant was fabulous. From the beginning to the end of the meal we enjoyed amazing food and a first class service. We opted for the Tasting Menu with wine pairings which did not disappoint, all courses were imaginative and delicious. If you visit Vienna you must make a point of visiting this amazing place.

There is a reason this restaurant is Michelin rated. An amazing culinary experience, detailed, enjoyable, wonderful service, very special. We did not do the degustation menu, but we were able to pick items from the special menu with no problem. Very, very expensive but exactly what I expected for what we were getting.

My husband and I really enjoyed our lunch here. When we travel internationally we try and find a restaurant from the "50 best in the world" list and this is the one we chose. For lunch there were several different tasting menus with varying levels of how many courses. This is great because I am the foodie in our couple... More

We stayed there for 5 hours but did not even notice. One of the best meals I had in my life. Price is high, as somebody would expect from such a restaurant, but much lower than you would pay in France or in the US. Staff speaks perfect English and the wine list is very, very, reasonable.

This is by far an awesome culinary experience. No doubt that this restaurant is aming the top 50 restaurants in the world if not top 10. What really amazed me is the mobile plant implantation when you ask for a cup of tea...a ceremony by itself.

From beginning to end our meal was faultless. The premises are very good, the staff attentive with being intrusive and the food itself is faultless. Yes, it is very, very expensive. I've seen that its considered by one guide to be one of the top 50 restaurants in the world. Based on our experience of other high end restaurants it's... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
