The food is average, but the service in this restaurant was pretty awful - we waited well over an hour to get our meals despite the fact that the place was almost empty. As an added bonus when the food arrived it was cold.

Slightly off the beaten track so not full of tourists. Good atmosphere, pleasant service, extensive menu and well worth it. Quality of the food was excellent as were the beers.

We enjoyed a variety of schnitzels and kneudles in a very pleasant, quiet setting not far from the main MariaHilfer Strasser pedestrian shopping street. As opposed to many venues, this one was smoke-free. Highly recommended.

We were just looking for a quick lunch close to our hotel and found this establishment. The interior looks a bit conservative and might need a little refreshing. The lunch menu at 6,90€ included a soup and a main course (ribs, burger and wiener schnitzel as options). The food was tasty, the size of the plate was enourmous. Don't expect... More

The location is good. Right in the middle of diverse xmas markets. Food in the pub was - well it did not convince me. I tasted the irish burger - was ok, but could be better. Then i tried some spare ribbs and they were good. The wine was very good, but the serving was ... bad. Bad in general.

The restaurant has a tasty local cuisine, the helpings are very generous and the service is prompt. Limited options for vegetarians.

First time was great service, great food and all in normal waiting times. Second time was absolutely the opposite. We waited 30 minutes for drinks, 45 minutes for a small starter which was incomplete, and another 75 minutes for the main course which was incomplete and the schnitzels were like cardboard. The waiters did their best, but very obviously the... More

We went there after many years. It has been completely refurbished and the restaurant has a fresher look. Service was outstanding, the food well presented but only ok

We went to this restaurant on our last day in Wien. We couldn't explain why but it was almost empty. However, food and beer (I cannot remember if this place was a brewery or not) were good and the owner and his staff quite friendly.

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
