Try Schweinshaxe with beer! We enjoyed crispy pork skin with tender and juicy meat. Staff was also friendly, so anyway I would like to recommend if you are looking for the restaurant nearby Prater.

We were in this Pub on 21st of March 2017. I was very disapointed. The waiter switched off the heaters at 10o clock even we had a new order comming and still sitting at the table. At 10o clock they lock the restooms so you cant use it. With the beer price of 4.5€ I would expect better level of... More

This place wasn't too bad however I found out loud that's like a beer house would expect to be if you can overcome the confusion waiters dropping trays full of beer glasses and loud noise I love the meal because the food is genuine authentic and hearty!

This is a fantastic, traditional Austrian restaurant in the Prater area of Vienna, where you can try the tradition Stelze, or pork knuckle! It is a relaxed restaurant with the main focus being on the huge Stelze and of course, beer. The staff regularly come round topping up the beers from large trays. Overall a great experience but you must... More

Another great restaurant to take family and friends when they are over visiting. Waiters walking around with beer that comes off a conveyor belt :) order the stelz - pork leg with great crackling

First things first, this is a seasonal restaurant so check the website if you intend to visit. Wonderful atmospheric beer garden which serves czech beer and great food. The waiters are.... well, this is Vienna. Finding a table can be a challenge, but the aforementioned waiters will sort you out.

After riding all the rides at the Prater, I had to eat something! I stumbled upon the Schweizerhaus with some friends and we had a blast! Our beers were amazing! Food wasn't too shabby either! I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Myself and a business colleague arrived in Vienna and decided we would like some traditional Viennese/Austrian fare, so we asked at Reception and were directed here. The bill of fare looked good, even with our rudimentary German, but when we spotted the pic of the dish shown above we were sold. 'Its for 2 people', the man said, so we... More

The Stelze and the real Budweiser is a must if you ever visit Vienna. Great atmosphere and the meal will be a great memory.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
